Soft: Eckels Toss 4-hit Shutout, Beimel Drive in 5 to Lead St. Marys Past ECC; Lander Hits Two HRs in DuBois Win; Kulbatsky K’s 15 in DCC Win

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Avery Eckels tossed a four-hit shutout and Addison Beimel drove in five runs to lead St. Marys to a 10-0, five-inning win over crosstown rival Elk County Catholic at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Eckels didn’t walk a batter and struck out six in getting the shutout, while Beimel was 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.

Kelsie Fledderman and Zoe Romanic each added a pair of RBIs for the Lady Dutch with Flederrman going 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Romanic going 1-for-1 with a run scored.

Gianna Surra chipped in a double in the win and was 1-for-3.

                  

Emily Mourer took the loss allowing 10 runs, three earned, on 10 hits and two walks while striking out two.

DUBOIS 10, BELLEFONTE 6

DUBOIS, Pa. – Lynx Lander hit a pair of home runs to help DuBois knock off visiting Bellefonte, 10-6.

Lander was 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Morgan Pasternak added three RBIs for the Lady Beavers going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Haley Reed scored three times and was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.

                          

Ava Baronick got the win going seven innings allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out six. She also hit a batter.

Sienna Barnhart was 2-for-3 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBIs for Bellefonte while Maria Cotter was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, and Taylor Brown was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Alaina Smith took the loss going six innings allowing 10 runs, five earned, on eight hits, seven walks, and a hit batter. She struck out seven.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 6, PUNXSUTAWNEY 0

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Rylee Kulbatsky had 15 strikeouts while tossing a two-hit shutout to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 6-0 win over Punxsutawney.

               

Kulbatsky walked two.

Melia Mitskavich hit a home run for the Lady Cardinals while going 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Kali Franklin added a pair of RBIs while going 1-for-3 with a run scored in the win, and Kulbatsky was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Brinley Hallman took the loss for Punxsutawney going seven innings allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks while striking out two.

SMETHPORT 27, CAMERON COUNTY 5, 3 INNINGS

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Elizabeth Hungiville hit a three-run home run and a grand slam while going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and eight RBIs to lead Smethport to a 27-5, three-inning win at Cameron County.

Smethport scored 10 in the first, 11 in the second, and six in the third. Cameron County, whose stats weren’t reported, had five runs in the first.

Tylar Colley got the win going three innings allowing five runs on a hit and seven walks while striking out seven.

BROOKVILLE 16, BROCKWAY 7

            

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Alyssa Tollini, Lily Plyer, and Aubre Eble each had a pair of hits to help Brookville to a 16-7 win at Brockway.

Plyer and Jordan Daisley each had a pair of RBIs in a five-run second inning for the Lady Raiders with one of Plyer’s hits being a two-run double. Tollini added an RBI triple in the win.

Tollini got the win allowing seven unearned runs on nine hits while striking out five.

Rheanna Spinda was 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Brockway while Meeca Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Sophia Schmader was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Rovers.
