Slippery Rock, Brockway Boys Earn Shutout Wins; Hayes, St. Marys Girls Triumph in Overtime (Oct. 9 Soccer Recaps)

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Trent Davey scored a pair of goals as Slippery Rock blanked Greenville, 3-0.

The Rock also scored on an own goal. Alex Cagle and Ryan Strother had assists.

Josh Book had the shutout in goal.

BROCKWAY 3, FOREST AREA 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Evan Botwright had a pair of goals as Brockway beat Forest Area, 3-0.

            

Caleb Daugherty had the other goal for Brockway.

Botwright, Jimmy Fremer and Aiden Wilcox had one assist each.

BRADFORD 2, MEADVILLE 1

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Andrew Mangold and Mitch Strauss had one goal each as Bradford earned a 2-1 win over Meadville.

Both goals came late in the first half.

                          

Tio Aitken had his first goal of the season for Meadville in the second half.

FAIRVIEW 6, GENERAL MCLANE 2

EDNIBORO, Pa. – Jackson Chiocco had four goals as Fairview beat General McLane, 6-2.

Josh Horn and Danny Lindenberger had one goal each for the Tigers.

Cooper Robson and David Price scored for GM.

Carter Sindlinger also had an assist for the Lancers.

WARREN 4, OIL CITY 1

OIL CITY, Pa. – Finn Ordiway scored a pair of goals as Warren earned a 4-1 win over Oil City.

Jack Chapman and Marc Lewis also found the back of the net for the Dragons.

Trey Carrington and Gavin Rex had assists for the Dragons.

                        

CATHEDRAL PREP 1, MCDOWELL 1

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep and McDowell battled for 100 minutes to a 1-1 draw in double overtime.

Ahmed Agag scored for the Trojans and Juan Pablo Dogre Milet for the Ramblers.

HARBOR CREEK 3, FORT LEBOEUF 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – Ben Wolfe had a pair of goals as Harbor Creek blanked Fort LeBoeuf, 3-0.

         

JT Parente had a goal and an assist as well in the win for the Huskies.

BROOKVILLE 3, ST. MARYS 1

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Steve Plyler, Austin Brosius and Brad Fiscus all scored as Brookville beat St. Marys, 3-1.

Caleb Kornbau and Isaac Reitz had assists for the Raiders.

GALETON 7, COUDERSPORT 1

GALETON, Pa. – Mason Roessner cored for Coudersport, but it was Galeton that earned a 7-1 win.

Reilly Streich and Drew VanWhy had assists for the Falcons.

SENECA 5, TITUSVILLE 0

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Reed Yost scored four goals as Seneca blanked Titusville, 5-0.

Lucas Hoffman had a goal and three assists in the win for the Bobcats.

IROQUOIS 5, EISENHOWER 0

ERIE, Pa. – Five different Iroquois players scored in a 5-0 win over Eisenhower.

Mava Mboko, Gio Main, Sam Kightlinger, Hunter Alderson and Joel Noyes all found the back of the net in the win for the Braves.

Noyes also had two assists.

ERIE 12, CORRY 0

ERIE, Pa. – Richard Lokale, Mazmal Babiker and Bonheur Kitongo scored two goals each as Erie beat Corry, 12-0.

Hamza Elsayded had four assists for the Royals.

WILMINGTON 5, SHARPSVILLE 0

PYMATUNING, TWP. – Ryder Tervo recorded a hat trick as Wilmington blanked Sharpsville, 5-0.

GIRLS

ST. MARYS 3, BROOKVILLE 2, overtime

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Lucy Hayes’ second goal of the game with 30 seconds to go in overtime lifted St. Marys to a 3-2 win over Brookville.

Gianna Surra assisted on the game-winner.

Surra also had a goal on a penalty kick in the first half.

Ally Wilson had both of Brookville’s goals on assists from Hannah Lundgren and Lauren Castellan.

Riquel Tripodi and Lili McKay combined for 11 stops in net for St. Marys.

BROCKWAY 2, FOREST AREA 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Mia martina and Aaliyah Witherite both scored to help Brockway to a 2-0 win over Forest Area.

Rhe Spinda and Ana Hughes had assists for the Rovers.

BRADFORD 7, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0

BRADFORD, Pa. – Bella Prince had a hat trick as Bradford earned a 7-0 win over Elk County Catholic.

Kelsea Austin and Alyssa Mangold had two goals each for the Lady Owls.
