Seven Area Golf Courses Named to Visitpa.com’s 28 Best Courses in Pennsylvania List

TIONESTA, Pa. – Seven Northwestern Pennsylvania golf courses are ranked among the 28 best golf courses in Pennsylvania by visitpa.com.

The list is led by Hailwood Golf Course in Meadville at No. 6 followed by Kane Country Club at No. 8, Foxburg Country Club at No. 9, Treasure Lake Golf in DuBois at No. 15, Emporium Country Club at No. 16, Hunter’s Station Golf Club just outside of Tionesta at No. 17, and Avalon Field Club at New Castle at No. 23.

About each course, visitpa.com partially said the following (click on the list to see everything visitpa.com has to say about each course). :

Hailwood: “No. 14 requires a tee shot over a miniature valley to reach the elevated green.”
Kane: “The Kane Country Club can stymie even the most seasoned golfer”
Foxburg: Oldest of all Pennsylvania golf courses as well as the oldest continually played course in the U.S.”
Treasure Lake: “With two unique 18-hole award-winning courses, Treasure Lake offers golfers a chance to enjoy different golfing experiences on each course all in the same weekend.”
Emporium: “With spectacular scenery nestled along peaceful waters of the Driftwood Branch, the historic Emporium Country Club’s 18-hole course was built in 1954.”
Hunters Station: “Hunter’s Station is a beautiful and challenging 18-hole public course”
Avalon Field: “Avalon Field Club at New Castle is a 6,600-yard course that has long been considered a hidden gem of New Castle and was named on John Garrity’s Top 50 Courses list.”
