OTTO-ELDRED 10, OSWAYO VALLEY 3

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Hannah Gordon hit her first over-the-fence home run of her career, and Bri Heller also homered while striking out 16 to lead visiting Otto-Eldred to a 10-3 win over Oswayo Valley.

Gordon was 3-for-3 and drove in three runs, while Heller was 2-fore-3 with a two-run home run and three RBIs.

Heller also went seven innings allowing three runs on six hits and no walks.

                  

Katie Sheeler also added a 2-for-4 day with a triple for the Lady Terrors.

Brooke George was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Oswayo Valley with Layla Phillips going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and Shayden Mesler 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

MaKenzie Mesler took the loss going six innings allowing 10 earned runs on 15 hits and a walk while striking out two.

DUBOIS 6, ST. MARYS 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Gabi Gulvas went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run and Allie Snyder fired a six-hitter as DuBois beat St. Marys for the second time this season, 6-1, at St. Marys High School.

The Lady Beavers scored four runs in the fourth inning to make it 6-0, all coming after an error allowed the frame to continue. Sarah Henninger, who delivered an RBI double in the second inning, reached on the error, which was immediately followed Gulvas’ blast, a line-drive shot to right.

For her efforts, Gulvas was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game and talked about the win afterward:

               

Lauren Walker continued the fourth with a double, which was followed by back-to-back RBI singles from Morgan Pasternak and Snyder.

That was more than enough for Snyder, who limited St. Marys to six hits, walking two and striking out five.

Henninger’s RBI double in the second opened the scoring. She advanced to third as St. Marys attempted to throw out Kat Patton on the plate, and the throw to third got away, allowing Henninger to scamper home.

Kara Hanslovan belted a solo home run in the sixth inning for St. Marys. The Lady Dutch also had a scoring opportunity taken away in the third inning. With runners on second and third and one out, Kendyl Young hit a line drive down the third-base line, striking teammate Alexis Wendel. Wendel was ruled to be out as the ball struck her in fair territory.

Young took the loss, allowing six runs (one earned) on eight hits, striking out eight, and walking four.

MONITEAU 7, FOREST AREA 5

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Moniteau scored six runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 5-1 deficit and pick up a 7-5 win over visiting Forest Area.

Brynne Barger and Taylor Thomas had key back-to-back two-out, two-run doubles in the sixth for the Lady Warriors.

Barger’s double to center tied the game at five, and Thomas’s double to left gave Moniteau a 7-5 lead.

            

Barger was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and a run scored, and Thomas was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Emma Covert also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Moniteau, and Mariska Shunk was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Brianna Rottman also scored twice while going 1-for-1 with three walks and an RBI.

Faith Dietrich hit a home run for Forest Area while going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Izabelle Flick went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Emily Aites 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Brenna Thompson was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Fires.

Covert got the win going seven innings allowing five earned runs on 11 hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out seven.

Flick took the loss going six innings allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out nine.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 9, JOHNSONBURG 7

DUBOIS, Pa. – In a Johnsonburg home game moved to DuBois Central Catholic’s grass field at DCC High School, the “visiting” Lady Cardinals built a 7-1 lead after four innings before holding off the Ramettes, 9-7.

Kali Franklin was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBIs for DCC with Jessy Frank going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Shelby Sorg was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Johnsonburg with Julia Jones going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Morgan Tyler got the win going seven innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on 11 hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Jones took the loss going seven innings allowing nine runs, six earned, on 12 hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out four.

TYRONE 8, CLEARFIELD 3

TYRONE, Pa. – Scoring three runs in the first inning, Tyrone ended Clearfield’s hopes for an unbeaten regular season with an 8-3 victory over the visiting Lady Bison.

Tiffanie Tuskovich went 1-for-3 with three RBIs, and Allison Beeman was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs to lead the Golden Eagles, who lost to Clearfield, 5-0, April 22.

Sam Shaw also went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Maci Brodzina was 2-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored in the win.

Oliva Bender went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI for Clearfield, which entered the game 10-0. Lauren Ressler was also 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Madelyn Rockwell got the win for Tyrone (7-4) going seven innings allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits, two walks, and two hit batters.

Emma Hipps took the loss going six innings allowing eight runs, five earned, on eight hits, four walks, and three hit batters while striking out nine.

COUDERSPORT 15, SMETHPORT 10

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Acting as the visiting team at home, Coudersport scored nine times in the top of the seventh to stun Smethport, 15-10.

The Lady Falcons trailed 10-6 going to the seventh but tied the game on a Sierra Myers single before taking an 11-10 lead on a bases-loaded walk to Emma Saulter. Makenzie Gentzyl then followed with a two-run double to break things open.

Myers and Alissa Dunn each had three hits in the win with Myers going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Dunn going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Savanah Myers also drove in three runs for the Lady Falcons while going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored, Madyson Dubots-Angood walked twice, scored three times, and drive in a time, Gentzyel was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Saulter walked three times, scored twice, and drove in a run.

Janell Dinch was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI for Smethport with Madi Faes going 3-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs and Dani Nelson 2-for-5 with two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Saulter, the third of three Coudy pitchers, got the win going three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on one hit, and three walks while striking out four.

Savannah Myers started and pitched three innings allowing six runs, four earned, on four hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

Ryelle Black pitched one inning allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out three.

Coryn McClain took the loss allowing 15 runs, 11 earned, on 12 hits and 11 walks while striking out four.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 9, BROOKVILLE 1

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Avary Powell hit a pair of home runs and drove in four to lift Punxsutawney to a 9-1 win over visiting Brookville.

Powell was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Emily Dobbins went 3-for-4 with a home run, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Ciara Toven was 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Brooke Skarbek also went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Chucks.

Toven got the win in relief of Karli Young pitching five innings allowing one hit while striking out 11.

Young went two innings giving up an earned run on three hits while striking out four.

KARNS CITY 10, CLARION 0, 5 INNINGS

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Ashley Fox homered and drove in three runs, and Jess Dunn doubled and drove in three to help Karns City to a 10-0, five-inning win over visiting Clarion.

Fox was 1-for-3 with three runs scored, while Dunn was 2-for-4.

Marra Patton also went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs for the Lady Gremlins, Sarah Patton was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and Zoe King was 1-for-2 with two walks, and two runs scored.

Allison Walker, meanwhile, threw a one-hit shutout walking three and striking out five.

Alexa Kitchen had the lone hit for Clarion.

Payton Simko took the loss allowing 10 runs, six earned, on nine hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out five in 4 ⅔ innings.

CURWENSVILLE 12, MOSHANNON VALLEY 0, 5 INNINGS

HOUTZDALE, Pa. – Joslynne Freyer tossed a two-hit shutout over five innings to lead Curwensville to a 12-0, five-inning win at Moshannon Valley.

Freyer struck out nine and didn’t walk anyone.

Taylor Luzier set the table out of the leadoff spot for the Lady Tide going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

MacKenzie Wall and Teagan Harzinski each added three hits for Curwensville with Wall going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Harzinski 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Rylee Wiggins also doubled, scored a run, and drove home two for Curwensville with Kaylie Shaw scoring a pair of runs.

Madison McCoy took the loss going five innings allowing 12 runs, four earned, on 11 hits and three walks while striking out one.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 10, KANE 0, 6 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Sydney Alexander, Sarah Hasselman, and Mya Pistner each scored two runs to help Elk County Catholic to a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Kane.

Alexander was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Ellie Baron doubled twice while going 3-for-4 with a run scored, and an RBI in the win.

Katherine Kirst also won 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for ECC with Caitlyn Vollmer going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Emily Mourer went six innings allowing four hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out five for ECC to get the win.

Madison Stahli went 5 ⅓ innings allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 12 hits, five walks, and two hit batters while striking out three.

CRANBERRY 21, UNION 1, 5 INNINGS

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – AXXX Collins hit a home run and Denali Wenner drove in three runs to help visiting Cranberry to a 21-1, five-inning win at Union.

Wenner was 1-for-5 with a run scored, and Collins was 1-for-1 with a run scored, and three RBIs.

Reyna Watson scored three times for the Berries while going 1-for-2 with an RBI, Oliva Plummer had four RBIs while going 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored, Keelie Schneider was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Cassie Scarbrough scored twice and drove in two.

Mackenna Davis was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Union.

Watson got the win going three innings allowing an earned run on one hit and two walks while striking out six.

Magen Walzak took the loss going five innings allowing 21 runs, eight earned, on 16 hits, three walks, and five hit batters while striking out four.
