Hickory’s Henwood Named District 10 Jim Kelly Player of the Week Powered by the Allegheny Grille

WARREN, Pa. – A brilliant performance by Hickory QB Michael Henwood capped by a personal career milestone makes him the Week Three D9and10Sports.com Jim Kelly District 10 Football Player of the Week Powered by the Allegheny Grille.

In a 45-0 win over Slippery Rock, Henwood was spectacular, completing 17-of-23 passes for 340 yards and six touchdowns as the Hornets improved to 3-0. The 340 yards through the air put him over 3,000 passing yards for his career, joining Luke Brennan (3,437 yards) and Frank Triggiani (3,408) yards in the 3,000-yard club for Hickory.

Henwood now stands at 3,217 career passing yards.

Jim Kelly is the Hall of Fame quarterback of the Buffalo Bills who grew up in East Brady, Pa. and went to Miami (Fla). Kelly was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002 after passing for over 45,000 yards as a pro, including two seasons in the USFL, with 320 career touchdown passes. He led the Bills to four straight AFC Titles.
