Erie Tops McDowell For D10 Class 6A Boys Title

ERIE, Pa. – Trailing by two going into the fourth quarter, Erie outscored McDowell 17-9 over the final eight minutes to claim the District 10 Class 6A championship, 46-37.

The win marked the first D10 title in the short history of the program. 

The Royals led by two, 24-22, but McDowell held them to five points in the third quarter of the back-and-forth affair to take its lead going into the fourth. 

                                      

Jamie Smith was brilliant for the Royals (18-3), pouring in a game-high 17 points. 

The title game was the rubber match between the two teams after they split in the regular season. 

Marquell Darnell was also in double figures for Erie with 10 points. 

Jaden Harper had 12 points for McDowell (13-8) and Jackson Hower added 11.
