Wrestling will continue into Saturday with the 3rd, 5th, and 7th place matches underway at 3:30 p.m. The Parade of Champions will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the championship matches.

Lloyd (35-4) is the defending champion at 189, after winning the Class 3A title at 172 as a freshman and sophomore, and is ranked No. 4 in the state. Fort LeBoeuf senior Conner McChesney (17-1) ranks No. 8 in the state, with his only loss this season coming via forfeit to Lloyd at sectionals.

Three other wrestlers will be looking for their third straight D10 title including Conneaut’s Hunter Gould at 133 pounds, Fort LeBoeuf’s JoJo Przybycien at 160 pounds, and Grove City’s Hunter Hohman at 172.

Przbycien (38-7), the No. 7 wrestler in the state, may have the toughest road back to the title with five other state-ranked grapplers in the 160-pound bracket. That includes No. 6 Story Buchanan (Girard, 26-4), No. 10 Cash Morrell (Cochranton, 29-6), and Section 2 champion and No. 14 Vito Gentile (Reynolds, 32-9).

Gould (31-1), the seventh-ranked grappler, will have to contend with three other state-ranked competitors in the 133-pound bracket. That includes the No. 8, Cyrus Hurd (North East, 37-3), and No. 9, Hudson Hohman (Grove City, 29-7), wrestlers.

At 172 pounds, the state’s No. 2 Hunter Hohman (34-4) will also have to compete against three other wrestlers in the top 25.

There’s another intriguing storyline at 121 pounds as former state champion and two-time state finalist Louie Gill (41-5) returns to postseason action. After transferring from Hickory to Reynolds last year, Gill was ruled ineligible for the postseason. Gill won the state title at 106 pounds as a freshman, then finished second in the state at that weight as a sophomore. The NC State commit is currently ranked No. 2 in the state at 121.

All told, five of the 13 weight classes have at least three state-ranked wrestlers. Saegertown’s Carter Beck (No. 5, 27-3), Reynolds’ Waylon Waite (No. 9, 27-10), and Grove City’s Tanner Hamilton (No. 21, 26-6) at 114 pounds.

The 152-pound bracket boasts Grove City’s Cody Hamilton (No. 7, 36-2), Sharpsville’s Caullin Summers (No. 9, 33-3), Titusville’s Landon Wolfkiel (No. 17, 32-8), and General McLane’s Chance Kimmy (No. 18, 31-12).

There are four state-ranked wrestlers in the 215-pound bracket including Greenville’s Teague Calvin (No. 7, 31-7), General McLane’s Ryan Dedrick (No. 8, 32-7), Fort LeBoeuf’s Jack Sangl (No. 18, 29-13), and Corry’s Kael Alberts (No. 20, 35-5).

Three state-ranked grapplers dot the bracket at 285 pounds. Fort LeBoeuf’s John Duran (No. 17, 33-9), Commodore Perry’s Garet Guthrie (No. 23, 25-5), and Greenville’s Joey Peterson (No. 24, 18-6).

The top eight wrestlers in each weight class will advance to next week’s Northwest Regional meet with District 9 at Sharon High School.
