DCC’s Fragle, Volpe Beat DuBois’ Hemke, Praekh for D9 Double Tennis Title

DUBOIS, Pa. – With a 6-4, 6-2 win on Monday, DuBois Central Catholic’s Luke Fragle and Matt Volpe defeated DuBois’ Jay Praekh and Brohm Hemke for the District 9 doubles tennis title at DuBois High School.

Fragle and Volope had a fairly easy run to the championship beating Brockway’s Dominic Durle and Aiden Wilcox in the opening round (10-1) before taking down St. Marys’ Casey Young and Brandon Henry (10-5) in the quarterfinals.

The duo reached the championship match by beating DuBois’ Ben Gribikl and Kyan Peck (6-1, 6-3).

Prakh’s and Hemke’s march to the title match saw the duo beat Elk County Catholic’s Noah Cherry and Frank Messineo (10-1) in the round of 16 before taking down Bradford’s Cooper Haight and Steven Williams (10-5) in the quarterfinals. They then reached the championship match by topping St. Marys’ Dawson Krug and Blake Hoffman (6-4, 6-4).
