DUBOIS, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic swept all three singles matches en route to a 4-1 win over Bradford in the D9 boys’ tennis team semifinals on Thursday.
In singles action for DCC, Neal Gupta was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Steven Williams, while Matt Volpe earned a hard-fought 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win over Max Shaw and Luke Fragale beat Peyton Haight, 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action, the Bradford team of Mitchell Strauss and Gabe Tate beat Tyler Baird and Haley Semancick, 6-2, 6-0.
In the other doubles match, DCC’s Daniel Jordan and Westin Youngdahl beat Bradford’s Landon Lohrman and Ward Kennedy, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

With the win, DCC advances to play top-seed Elk County Catholic (which had a bye) in the finals on Wednesday (May 10).

MCDOWELL 3, ROCKY GROVE 0
ERIE, Pa. – Deke Patton had 12 kills and five digs as McDowell earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-10) win over Rocky Grove.
Jack Wilcox had nine kills and six digs for the Trojans, while RJ Nagg had 29 assists and six digs, Amarvir Kang had six kills and 10 digs, and Parker Morgan had five digs.
For Rocky Grove, Blayne Baker had 12 points and four kills, while Joshua Stevenson had eight points, four blocks, and 25 digs, Alex Zinz had seven points, four kills, and two digs, Avery Purich had 11 digs, Camron King had five points and two digs and Wyatt Bell had five blocks and one kill.

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – North Clarin earned a 104-42 win over Clarion-Limestone in boys’ track and field action.
Mason Burford was a triple winner for North Clarion, as the Wolves also won all three relays.
