LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon’s Kennedy DeMatteis (Moniteau) and Mercyhurst’s Cheyenne Hindman (Slippery Rock) nabbed Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards, with Hindman picking up Athlete of the Week and DeMatteis Pitcher of the Week.
Hindman helped Mercyhurst to four wins this week. She hit .556 with two singles, two doubles, and a home run in four games. She scored twice and collected seven RBI. Hindman also drew two walks and stole a base.
DeMatteis, meanwhile, threw a one-hit shutout against Lake Erie on Friday. She carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and struck out four. At the plate, she went 2-3 with a triple, a solo home run, and three RBI.
