Clouse, Redbank Valley Boys Edge Brockway; Handzel Scores Five Goals in Prep Win; O’Neil, ECC Triumph (Sept. 13 Soccer Recaps)

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Owen Clouse scored two first-half goals to help Redbank Valley to a 2-1 win over Brockway.

Clouse’s first goal came just over a minute into the game on a pass from Kieran Fricko, while his second goal came after his shot bounced off a Brockway defender midway through the first half after Brockway had tied the score at 1-1.

Clouse was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game.

“We were trying to start off strong and get the momentum, so off the kickoff getting that goal was pretty good,” Clouse said during the Cole Orthodontic Associates Player of the Game interview.

Brockway’s Brady Hughes tied the game at 1-1 on an assist from Evan Botright just a minute before Clouse’s second goal.

COUDERSPORT 2, KANE 1

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Kane earned a 2-1 win over Coudersport.

                          

Mason Roessner scored for Coudersport on an assist from Micah Baston.

Kane stats were not available.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 5, NORTHERN POTTER 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Lance O’Neil recorded a hat trick as Elk County Catholic beat Northern Potter, 5-0.

The Crusaders scored two goals in the first half and three in the second half.

Wil Wortman and Frank Messineo had the other goals for ECC.

Messineo and Wyatt Brem had assists for the Crusaders.

CATHEDRAL PREP 8, BRADFORD 1

BRADFORD, Pa. – Noah Handzel scored five goals as Prep beat Bradford, 8-1.

Max Johnson, Juan Pablo Dogre Milet and Brandon Lin had the other goals for the Ramblers.

                        

Dylan Danch had four assists for Prep.

MEADVILLE 8, CORRY 0

CORRY, Pa. – Logan Shaw had a hat trick as Meadville blanked Corry, 8-0.

Kael Armstrong had two goals, while Graham Shellhaas and Jack Morale had one goal each.

Tate Walker had a pair of assists for the Bulldogs.

         

SLIPPERY ROCK 7, CONNEAUT 0

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Trent Davey scored a pair of goals as Slippery Rock blanked Conneaut, 7-0.

Zach Lasko, Max Kovacik, Alex Cagle, Nick Olshanski and Collin Wimer also scored for Slippery Rock.

Braden Callen had two assists for the Rockets, while Josh Book, James Crammer, and Kovacik had one each.

WARREN 3, OIL CITY 0

WARREN, Pa. – Finn Ordiway scored a pair of goals and also added an assist as Warren blanked Oil City, 3-0.

Trey Carrington had the other goal for the Dragons and also had an assist, as did Luc Wilkins.

SENECA 4, TITUSVILLE 0

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Braden Kibbe scored a pair of goals as Seneca beat Titusville, 4-0.

Lucas Hoffman and Josiah ZaSada had the other goals for the Bobcats.

Shawn Renner, Reed Yost and Noah Zacks had assists for Seneca.

GIRLS

BROCKWAY 1, REDBANK VALLEY 0

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Rheanna Spinda scored with 3:35 to go in the first half as Brockway topped Redbank Valley, 1-0.

Spinda was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game.

“It was rough at the start, but we just needed to get our heads in the game and get some passes through the gaps,” Spinda said during the Cole Orthodontic Associates Player of the Game interview.

The goal came off a deflection of a shot by Madison Mortimer.

SLIPPERY ROCK 4, WILMINGTON 3

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Brooke Arblaster scored in overtime to give Slippery Rock a 4-3 win over Wilmington.

Sarah Dieter had two goals for Wilmington, while Carly Hogg had one.

Analiese Hendrickson had two assists and Maria Mitchell one for Wilmington.
