Clearfield, Karns City Girls Earn Shutout Wins, Clarion Wins Thriller (Sept. 7 Soccer Recaps)

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Alayna Winters and Myleigh Hudson scored four goals each to lead Clearfield to a 14-0 win over Greater Johnstown.

Mia Smith had two goals for the Lady Bison, while Kaylie Brown, Olivia Mitchelll, Kira Knox and Maycee English had one goal each.

English also had two assists.

KARNS CITY 7, PUNXSUTAWNEY 0

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Bree O’Donnell, Layla Colsey and Phoebe Brandon scored two goals each as Karns City powered past Punxsutawney, 7-0.

            

Hanna Dailey had the other goal for Karns City while also adding three assists.

O’Donnell, Savanna Prescott and Audrina Hobaugh also had one assist each for Karns City.

CLARION 6, KEYSTONE 5

CLARION, Pa. – Alexis Coull scored four goals to help Clarion to a 6-5 win over Keystone.

Alex Leadbetter had the other two goals for Clarion.

                          

Julianna Wilso, Leadbetter and Coull had two assists each for the Lady Cats.

Brianna Manno had four goals for Keystone, while Jill Winters had the other.

Winters, Mariah Beary and Sarah Cotton had one assist each for the Panthers.

Mercedes Cunningham had 17 saves for Clarion and Jerzy Bell 20 stops for Keystone.

HICKORY 4, WILMINGTON 3

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Izzy Delgross scored on a breakaway for the game-winning goal as Hickory edged Wilmington, 4-3.

Lauren Harless had two goals for Hickory and Emmi Rossi the other.

For Wilmington, Carly Hogg, Emily Arblaster and Isabella Melnik had goals for Wilmington. Analiese Hendrickson had an assist for the Greyhounds.

Alexxa Miller had two saves for Hickory and Brianna Jenkins had four saves for Wilmington.

BROCKWAY 2, FOREST AREA 1, overtime

TIONESTA, Pa. – Evan Botwright’s overtime goal lifted Brockway to a 2-1 win over Forest Area.

Botwright’s goal was assisted by Dylan Bash.

Caleb Daugherty scored on an assist from Vinny Cavalline for the Rovers’ other goal.

Logan Bish had the goal for Forest.

         

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 2, RIDGWAY 0

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Bradyn Pistner and Lance O’Neil both scored to help

Pistner’s goal in the first half came on an assist from Aaron Bennett, while O’Neil’s goal in the second half was unassisted.

Sagan Beaver had the shutout in net for ECC.

Ethan Streich had over 20 saves in net for Ridgway.
