Cambridge Springs Extends Closure; Eisenhower Football to Play at Mercer; Sharpsville-Lakeview Canceled

   

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Cambridge Springs Jr/Sr High School extended its closure until Sept. 20, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Last week, Superintendent Timothy Glasspool announced that the school, and by extension all athletic events and activities, would be canceled through Sept. 14 due to COVID 19.

“After a review of our school data and consultation with the PA Department of Health, a school closure is necessary,” Glasspool said in Monday’s release. “

That includes all on and off-site athletics and after-school activities.

The release went on to say that the percentage of known students to test positive for COVID-19 has exceeded seven percent. Seven staff members have also tested positive.

            

OTHER D10 UPDATES

– Eisenhower football will now play at Mercer on Friday at 7 p.m. The Knights’ originally scheduled game at Seneca was canceled due to COVID-19 issues with the Bobcats

– The Sharpsville at Lakeview football game scheduled for Friday has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues at Lakeview. Bob Greenburg of Sports Radio 96.7 was first to report. There have now been 13 games canceled in District 10 this season because of COVID-19 issues.
