ERIE, Pa. – The Cathedral Prep girls’ swimming program has quietly become one of the top high school programs in Pennsylvania.

And that tradition continued in 2024 with a second-place finish in Class 2A giving the Ramblers/Villa Maria a second consecutive second-place finish which combined with a third-place ending in 2022 and championships in 2019 and 2021 means the program has finished in the top three in each of the last five seasons a championship has been swam.

The 200-free relay team led the way this year with a gold-medal finish.

The team of Kendal Johnston, Maria Costa, Jaslene Cage, and Josie Dufala swam a time of 1:36.71 two seconds ahead of second-place Springfield.

Meanwhile, the 200-medley relay was second.

Individually, Costa was fourth in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 200 IM to lead the Ramblers.

Also for Cathedral Prep, Josie Dufala was seventh in the 50 freestyle, and Chloe Borrero was eighth in the 100 backstroke.
