Soft: Corry Edges Grove City; Iroquois Outlasts Erie in 10 Innings; Wilmington Rolls Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Payton McCray and Allison Sawyer had RBI singles in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie and send Corry to a 7-5 win over Grove City.

Grove City took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but Corry rallied with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. Sawyer and McCrady finished with two RBIs each.

Mackenzie Spence got the win, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out 15 and walking two.

Kara Kirk was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Grove City. Kirk took the loss, allowing seven runs (two earned) in seven innings on 15 hits, striking out five and walking one.

IROQUOIS 12, ERIE 10, 10 innings

                  

ERIE, Pa. – Fiona Yelkovick’s RBI groundout broke a 10-10 tie in the 10th inning and helped Iroquois to a 12-10 win over Erie in 10 innings.

Miranda Kieser followed with a sac fly in the 10th for the Braves. Iroquois rallied with five runs in the seventh inning to force extra innings.

Mila Gehrlein-Carpenter was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Iroquois, while Yelkovick was 3-for-6 with three RBIs and Neela Lamp 4-for-5 with an RBI. Phoenix Thomas got the win, allowing seven earned runs in 10 innings on 10 hits, striking out 14.

Hannah Nicklas was 4-for-7 with two doubles and two RBIs for Erie, while Isabella Jones also drove in a pair of runs.

Danica Rowan took the loss, allowing 10 runs on 19 hits, striking out three.

                          

WILMINGTON 14, LAKEVIEW 0, 5 innings

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Ava Williamson was 2-for-3 with four RBIs as Wilmington powered past Lakeview, 14-0 in five innings.

Lia Krarup was 3-for-3 with three RBIs for the Greyhounds, while Karah Deal was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Skylar Leishman got the win, allowing one hit in four shutout innings, striking out 10 and walking one.

JAMESTOWN 13, EISENHOWER 2, 5 innings

               

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Miranda Biles was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs as Jamestown beat Eisenhower, 13-2 in five innings.

Biles also got the win, allowing two runs on six hits in five innings, striking out 10.

Madilyn Enterline was 3-for-4 for the Muskies with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Kendra Danielson was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Eisenhower, while Payton Frank was 2-for-3 with a double. Sam Childs took the loss, allowing nine earned runs in four innings on 10 hits, striking out one.

MERCER 17, FARRELL 4, 5 innings

FARRELL, Pa. – Phoebe and Angelina Eakman both homered as Mercer beat Farrell, 17-4 in five innings.

Phoebe Eakman finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs, while Angelina was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Also for the Mustangs, Pressley Washil was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs.

Angelina Eakman got the win, allowing three earned runs in five innings on one hit, striking out 15 and walking two.

WEST MIDDLESEX 9, REYNOLDS 1

               

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Kaylee Long was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs as West Middlesex beat Reynolds, 9-1.

Ava Gilmore was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Big Reds, while Harper Nickel was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Gilmore got the win, allowing one unearned run on one hit in four innings, striking out three and walking one.

Maggie Emmerick had an RBI for Reynolds.

NORTHWESTERN 20, GENERAL MCLANE 10

EDINBORO, Pa. – Courtney Eddy had a monster game, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and six RBIs as Northwestern beat General McLane, 20-10.

Northwestern had 21 hits in the game, as Zoey Johnson was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs and Zoe Rastetter was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and four runs. Ayla Ruland also homered and drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

Johnson got the win, allowing 10 runs on 23 hits while striking out six.

Riley Lorah was 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs for GM, while Makayla Rapela was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs scored and Bella Dibble 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

Emma Ford took the loss, allowing 20 runs on 21 hits, striking out two.

HICKORY 6, FRANKLIN 1

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Brooke Black and Madison Trimboli drove in two runs each as Hickory beat Franklin, 6-1.

Payton Leunis was also 3-for-4 with a run scored for Hickory. Maddie Myers got the win, allowing one run on two hits in five innings, striking out five and walking two.

Autumn Fitzgerald was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Franklin. Jersey Swartz was in the circle, allowing six runs (four earned) on 11 hits, striking out four.

HARBOR CREEK 15, MERCYHURST PREP 0, 4 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Georgia Weber was 3-for-3 with three RBIs as Harbor Creek beat Mercyhurst Prep, 15-0 in four innings.

Five different Harbor Creek players – Maggie Konieczki, AB Cipalla, Rylee Vogt, Kayla Bresee and Catherine Burkett drove in two runs each for the Huskies.

Talon King went three innings to get the win, allowing one hit and striking out nine.

WARREN 14, GIRARD 0, 5 innings
GIRARD 17, WARREN 2, 3 innings

GIRARD, Pa. – Warren and Girard split a doubleheader, with the Dragons winning 14-0 in five innings and the Yellow Jackets 17-2 in three innings.

In the Game 1 win for Warren, Alana Warrior was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, while Alana Stuart was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Malysia Sorenson 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Natasha Ferry 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Stuart got the win, allowing just two hits in five innings, striking out 15 and walking one.

In the Game 2 win for Girard, Laurel Brink was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs, while five different Yellow Jackets had one RBI each. Girard took advantage of seven errors and 10 walks issued by Dragon pitching.

Madison Chaffee got the win, allowing one earned run in three innings on three hits, striking out three.
