UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Four District 9 umpires officiated the PIAA Class 3A softball championship game on Thursday, June 13, at Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park on the campus of Penn State University.
Colleen Shannon umpired behind the plate with Todd Fedder at first base, Bill Overly at second base, and Jim Pullman at third base.
The game turned out to be a dandy with Harbor Creek walking off Juniata, 1-0, in the bottom of the ninth inning despite Juniata’s pitcher, Liz Gaisior, striking out 21 batters.
