Former Kane Standout Marconi Nabs PAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Award

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Former Kane Area High School standout Ella Marconi was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Saint Vincent College, the conference announced Monday.

Marconi averaged 17.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocked shots per game during a 3-0 week for Saint Vincent. She led the Bearcats in scoring and rebounding in all three PAC victories.

Marconi totaled 16 points and 11 rebounds in last Monday’s 70-54 win at Franciscan before finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 73-55 win over Bethany Wednesday. She posted a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double in Saturday’s 71-63 win over Grove City.

Marconi shot 54.3 percent (19-35) from the floor and went 14-of-19 (.737) from the free-throw line last week. Her seven double-doubles are tied for the most in the league.

Marconi is averaging 10.8 points and a league-high 10.8 rebounds per game this season. Her 45 blocked shots (2.6/g) also lead the PAC.
