WARREN, Pa. – Jamestown and Sharpsville made strong PIAA playoffs runs and Mercer’s Angelina Eakman had a freshman season for the ages, and they are all featured prominently in the YDL Sports Network’s postseason softball awards and All-District teams.

Eakman is the 2023 YDL Sports Network Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while Sharpsville’s Breanna Hanley is the Pitcher of the Year and Jamestown’s Rodney Callahan the Coach of the Year.
Eakman’s numbers are hard to fathom for a Mercer team that went 14-6 before falling to Sharpsville in the D10 2A semifinals. Offensively, she hit .581 with 13 home runs, 11 doubles, 1 triple, and 33 RBIs with a staggering OPS of 2.037.
She was a force in the circle as well, going 11-5 with a 1.40 ERA in 90 innings pitched, striking out 207 and walking 26.
Hanley, meanwhile put together a terrific senior season for a Sharpsville team that won the D10 title and advanced to the PIAA quarterfinals. She went 14-2 on the season with a 1.64 ERA. In 102 ⅓ innings pitched, she struck out 161 and walked 22.

Callahan guided a Jamestown team that is well-represented on the All D10 teams to a 22-2 record. The Muskies won the D10 3A title, won their first-ever PIAA playoff game, and advanced to the PIAA semifinals. The Muskies scored double-digit runs in 15 of their wins.
