District 9 Releases 2024 Softball Playoff Seedings

BROCKWAY, Pa. – District 9 released the 2024 District 9 softball playoff seedings on Thursday, May 16.

Brackets: Class 1AClass 2AClass 3AClass 4AClass 5A

Four-time defending champion DuBois Central Catholic is the top seed in Class 1A, Cranberry is the top seed in Class 2A, and defending champion St. Marys is the top seed in Class 4A.

Punxsutawney will play in a subregion with Districts 5 and 8 in Class 3A. The Chucks are the No. 2 seed while Chestnut Ridge is the top seed. DuBois will play in a subregion with Districts 6 Class 5A with the D6 champion playing DuBois.

The Class 1A, 2A, and 4A championship games will once again be played on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at Heindl Field in DuBois.

                  

The 3A subregional game will be played on Wednesday, May 29, at a site and time to be announced,  and the Class 5A subregional game is set for Tuesday, May 28, at Heindl Field.

The District 9 champions in Class 4A will also have to play subregional games in order to qualify for the PIAA Tournament.  The D9 Class 4A champion will play the District 6 or 8 champion on Thursday, May 30.
