LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Clarion’s Cassidy Snider, a Conneaut Area High School graduate, earned PSAC West Volleyball Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 9 after a stellar weekend at home to start the 2023 season.

Snider was named the MVP of the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament after helping the Golden Eagles to four consecutive wins on their home court, lighting it up on offense in the first weekend of the season. The junior outside hitter averaged 4.27 kills per set while hitting .360 for the weekend, committing just 15 errors in a team-high 136 attempts.

She reached 19 kills in a five-set victory over Saginaw Valley State, and later that day authored a masterful performance against Shippensburg with 17 kills on 22 attempts for a .727 attack percentage. Snider banged out 18 kills in the weekend finale against Fayetteville State, hitting .343 in the victory.

Snider now has 916 career kills in 62 matches played, with a career average of 4.16 kills per set. The two-time AVCA All-America Honorable Mention is on pace to become the 14th player in program history to top 1,000 career kills.
