Clarion High Grads Constantino, Anthony Helping Pave the Way to Victory for Grove City College Softball

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Media release) – Clarion High School grads Kaitlyn Constantino and Noel Anthony have helped the Grove City College softball team to a seven-game win streak.

The Wolverines (14-8, 8-2 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) swept visiting Thiel in a conference doubleheader Thursday and both players had major roles in the sweep.

In Grove City’s 5-0 Game One victory, Constantino fired a two-hit shutout in Game One in earning her conference-leading eighth win of the season. Constantino (8-3) struck out five and walked one while recording her third shutout of the season. She has won four straight starts with three shutouts in that span.

Anthony has taken over as Grove City’s regular starter in center field. She went 1 for 3 with a run scored in the opener, then doubled, tripled, scored twice and knocked in three runs in the nightcap, a 7-1 Grove City win. Anthony’s three-run double in the second inning gave Grove City a 5-0 lead.

On the season, Constantino is 8-3 with a 3.03 ERA. In 67 innings pitched, she has struck out 52 and allowed 32 walks.

                  

Anthony, meanwhile, is hitting .333 with two doubles, two triples, and six RBIs. She has scored 13 runs despite having only 30 at-bats.
