Wilmington Tops Farrell to Take Home District 10 Class 2A Title

   
   

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Wilmington built an early lead, then held off a late Farrell rally to win the District 10 Class 2A title, 19-14, Saturday.

The Greyhounds beat the Steelers for the third time this season on the strength of three first half touchdowns.

Luke Edwards (4-yard run) and Mason Reed (27-yard interception return) scored in the final two minutes of the first quarter to stake Wilmington to a 13-0 lead. Caelan Bender connected with Ethan Susen midway through the second quarter to make it 19-0.

Omar Stewart got the Steelers on the board with just under two minutes to go in the first half. Christian Hartley’s one yard run early in the fourth quarter pulled Farrell to within a touchdown, but the Greyhounds held on for the win.
