West Middlesex Outlasts Mercer in Double OT; Mercyhurst’s Perfetto Picks Up Milestone Win; Opp Powers GM Jan. 26, 2023

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Alexis Babcock scored 13 points as West Middlesex outlasted Mercer in double overtime, 41-39.

West Middlesex trailed by four, 28-24 going into the fourth quarter, with the Big Reds going on an 11-7 run to force overtime, with neither team scoring in the first extra period.

Emma Mild added 11 points for West Middlesex and Caitlin Stephens 10.

Ashlynn Heckathorn had 10 for Mercer and McKenna McCandless had nine.

MERCYHURST PREP 63, GIRARD 16

                                      

ERIE, Pa. – Coach Dan Perfetto notched career win No. 350 as Mercyhurst Prep earned a 63-16 win over Girard.

Olivia Kulyk led Mercyhurst Prep with 18 points, while Mia Mangini had 13 and Lillirose Lang 11.

Peyton Kalicky had six points for Girard.

HARBOR CREEK 45, FAIRVIEW 32

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Harbor Creek went on a 15-2 run in the third quarter on its way to a 45-32 win over Fairview.

                          

Elise Benim led a balanced effort for Harbor Creek with 13 points, while Hannah Smith had 11 and Brooke Przybylski 10.

Hope Garrity led Fairview with 15 points.

GENERAL MCLANE 43, FORT LEBOEUF 38

WATERFORD, Pa. – General McLane outscored Fort LeBoeuf 15-8 in the fourth quarter en route to a 45-38 win.

Libby Opp came up huge over the final eight minutes, scoring 15 of her game-high 24 points, including a pair of 3’s. She was also 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the fourth and 8-of-10 for the game.

Bella Dibble and Kiley Leasure added six points each for GM.

Jillian Soder had 12 points and Emily Samluk had nine for LeBoeuf.

WARREN 41, CORRY 11

WARREN, Pa. – Warren went on a 15-2 run in the second quarter on its way to a 41-11 win over Corry.

The Dragons didn’t give up more than two points in each of the first three quarters.

                                   

Alana Stuart scored 12 points, Sammie Ruhlman 10, and Gracie Ruhlman five for the Dragons.

Sammie Ruhlman talked about the win afterward:

Halle Kuzminski had eight rebounds for Warren, while Sammie Ruhlman dished out six assists and Meea Irwin had five steals.

GREENVILLE 34, GROVE CITY 28

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Josie Lewis had 12 points as Greenville edged Grove City, 34-28.

Greenville outscored Grove City 9-5 in the fourth quarter on its way to the win.

Grace Cano had 10 points, while Reese Schaller and Anna Harpst added six points each.

Piper Como had 13 points for Grove City.

CONNEAUT 56, OIL CITY 42

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Lainie Harrington poured in 20 points to go along with four assists as Conneaut earned a 56-42 win over Oil City.

Hannah Brady had 11 points, five steals, and four rebounds, and Eliza Harrington had nine points, four rebounds, and three steals for the Eagles.

Also for Conneaut Morgan Poff had eight rebounds.

Maddy Marczak added nine points and Emma Stahl eight for Oil City.

                                  

FRANKLIN 55, MEADVILLE 21

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Katie Boal had 18 points and 11 rebounds as Franklin earned a 55-21 win over Meadville.

Estella Adams made four 3’s and scored 14 points, while Jenn Blumm added 10 points and seven rebounds for Franklin.

Marlaya McCoy and Alex Gallagher had eight points each for Meadville.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 81, REYNOLDS 14

TRANSFER, Pa. – Layke Fields scored 18 points and Bella Magestro 17 as Kennedy Catholic followed up its big win over Blackhawk with an 81-14 win over Reynolds.

Hayden Keith netted 13 points for the Golden Eagles and Cassie Dancak 11.

Ava Murcko, Savannah Johnson, and Lea Miller had four points each for Reynolds.

SAEGERTOWN 58, ROCKY GROVE 11

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Saegertown surrendered just three second-half points on its way to a 58-11 Region 2 win at Rocky Grove.

Lyndzee Amory led a trio of Panthers in double figures with 19 points. Lindsey Greco had 14 points and Hailee Gregor added 10.

Rae Montgomery had eight points for the Orioles.

LAKEVIEW 60, FARRELL 37

FARRELL, Pa. – Kelsey Seddon scored 19 points as Lakeview earned a 60-37 win over Farrell.

The Sailors went on a 21-3 run in the second quarter en route to the win.

Emma Marstellar added 11 points and Alaina Peltonen nine for Lakeview.

Damerra Thomas had 18 points and Gabby King had 13 for Farrell.

HICKORY 46, SHARON 42

SHARON, Pa. – Kaelyn Fustos had 16 points as Hickory edged Sharon, 46-42.

Kimora Roberts had 12 points for Hickory, while Mariah Swanson added nine.

India McGee had a game-high 18 points for Sharon, while Daryonna Nixon added 10.

WILMINGTON 48, SHARPSVILLE 40

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Lia Krarup scored 24 points as Wilmington earned a 48-40 win over Sharpsville.

Krarup scored 18 of her point in the second half, while Annalee Gardner added eight points.

Wilmington went on a 21-9 run in the third quarter en route to the win.

Macie Steiner led Sharpsville with 16 points, while Breanna Hanley added nine.

MAPLEWOOD 55, YOUNGSVILLE 9

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Maplewood held Youngsville to just three field goals on its way to a 55-9 Region 2 road win.

The Tigers led 34-4 at the half, allowing just a single field goal to Madison Vanguilder.

Rhaelynn Koelle led the Tigers with 16 points, while Sadie Thomas added 15 points.

Riley Robinault led Youngsville with five points and Vanguilder added four.

EISENHOWER 52, SENECA 26

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Meghan Konkol led a balanced effort with 13 points as Seneca earned a 52-26 win over Eisenhower.

Emma Bleil added 10 points for Seneca.

UNION CITY 38, COCHRANTON 22

UNION CITY, Pa. – Union City outscored Cochranton 14-4 in the first quarter en route to a 38-22 victory.

Jessica Messenger had nine points for Union City, while Cheyenne McGuire had eight.

Abby Knapka had 10 points for Cochranton.

JAMESTOWN 35, COMMODORE PERRY 20

HADLEY, Pa. – Alayna Cadman scored 16 points as Jamestown beat Commodore Perry, 35-20.

Cadman hit four 3’s in the win, while Savannah Thurber added eight points for the Muskies.

Jazlyn Boyles had eight points for Commodore Perry.

NORTHWESTERN 56, NORTH EAST 45

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Makayla Presser-Palmer scored 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as Northwestern beat North East, 46-35.

Chloe Yazembiak had 17 points and seven rebounds for Northwestern.

Alex Cozzens had 12 points for North East.

CATHEDRAL PREP 76, ERIE 21

ERIE, Pa. – Lena Walz poured in 20 points as Cathedral Prep beat Erie, 76-21.

Addie Biel was also in double figures for Prep with 13 points, while Jayden McBride added 10.
