LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Fort LeBoeuf graduate and Gannon redshirt junior Eric Scarpino was tabbed PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week after the Golden Knights took down Clarion, 47-24.

Scarpino stepped in and booted a pair of field goals along with making 5-of-6 extra points. The redshirt junior converted on three-pointers from 22 and 19 yards. It marked the fifth time he has made two field goals in a game. He has now moved into seventh place in career field goals made with 16 and is tied for seventh in field goals attempted with 20.

In addition, Gannon’s Sarah Falls, a Villa Maria graduate, was named PSAC Western Division Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week.

Fails continues to be an offensive weapon for the Golden Knights and was a key part of both 2-1 victories this week (over Mercyhurst and California (Pa.). Fails assisted on both goals in the match versus then-first-place Mercyhurst. She also scored the game-winner against Cal (Pa.), bursting through defenders in the second half and firing home a strike—her fourth of the season.
