Villa’s Thomas, Doubles Team of Prichard-Consiglio Top St. Marys Trio To Advance To PIAA Tennis Class 2A Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. – The postseason success continued for the Villa Maria tennis program on Wednesday.

The Victors’ Tara Thomas beat St. Marys’ Samantha Hayes in PIAA Class 2A singles quarterfinal action, while the Villa doubles team of Anne Marie Prichard and Abby Consiglio topped the Dutch duo of Lillia Lion and Brooke Henry.

Thomas beat Hayes 6-1, 6-0, while Prichard and Consiglio earned a 6-1, 7-5 victory.

Thomas will meet Chelsea Bartolacci of Marovian Academy at 8 a.m. on Saturday in Hershey, with the championship scheduled for 1 p.m. Laura Greb of Knoch and Olivia Dorner of South Williamsport meet in the other semifinal.

            

Prichard and Consiglio will match up with Emma Perkins and Alex Pancu of Conrad Weiser in the doubles semifinals, also scheduled for 8 a.m.

The winner will meet the winner of Brook Bauer-Ally Bauer (Knoch) and Madeline DeFaber-Bella Aniska (Riverside) in the championship at 1 p.m.

Fairview’s Fox, McDowell doubles’ team of Becker-Lowry fall in quarterfinals

Fairview’s Trinity Fox lost in straight sets to Bethel Park’s Mia Gorman, 6-0-6-0 in the PIAA Class 3A singles’ quarterfinals.

                          

In doubles, McDowell’s Samantha Becker and Brooke Lowry lost 6-0, 6-0 to the Peters Township team of Kat Wang and Marra Bruce.
