Toven, Young Lead Punxsy Past Keystone; Forest Area Gets Needed Win; Coudy, OV Roll

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Ciara Toven and Karli Young combined to limit Keystone to four hits, as Punxsutawney beat the visiting Lady Panthers, 3-1.

Young started and went three innings allowing an earned run on a hit while striking out five.

Toven came in and got the win going four innings of scoreless relief allowing three hits while striking out nine.

Emily Dobbins was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Punxsutawney with Brooke Young going 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored.

               

Natalie Bowser went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, a run scored, and an RBI for Keystone.

Bowser took the loss in the circle going four innings allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out two.

Leah Exley pitched two scoreless innings for Keystone allowing a hit while striking out one.

FOREST AREA 13, BROCKWAY 3

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Breaking open a relatively close game with seven runs in the top of the seventh, Forest Area beat Brockway, 13-3.

                          

Akeela Greenawalt and Madison McFarland each drove in three runs for the Fires, while Alexa Carll had three hits and Izzy Flick scored three runs.

Greenawalt was 3-for-5 with a run scored, McFarland was 1-for-3, Carll was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, and Flick was 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI.

Also for Forest Area, Faith Dietrich went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, Mackenzie Mellon was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Ana Stitt was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Amanda Decker was 2-for-4 with a run scored for Brockway.

Mellon got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on five hits, three walks, and five strikeouts.

               

Gabby Hertel took the loss allowing 13 runs, three earned, on 13 hits while striking out five.

ST. MARYS 15, CLARION 0, 4 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Kendall Young tossed a two-hit shutout while also driving in three runs to lead St. Marys to a 15-0, four-inning win over visiting Clarion.

Young walked one and struck out eight while hitting a home run and a double. She was 2-for-3 with a walk, and a run scored.

Shannon Kaiser, Jianna Gerg, and Gianna Surra also added doubles for the 12-hit St. Marys’ attack.

Kaiser was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored, Gerg was 1-for-1 with a run scored, and Surra was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Rose Deprater also scored three times while going 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, while Olivia Eckels was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

COUDERSPORT 16, GALETON 1, 4 INNINGS; COUDERSPORT 15, GALETON 5, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Coudersport outscored visiting Galeton 31-6 in a doubleheader sweep.

            

The Lady Falcons won Game One 16-1 in four innings and Game Two 15-5 in five innings.

In the first game, Sierra Myers and Madyson Dubots-Angood each had extra-base hits for Coudersport with Sierra Myers going 1-for-1 with a triple, a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, and DuBots-Angood going 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Savanah Myers was also 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI for the Lady Falcons with Ava Wahlers going 2-for-2 with two walks, and two runs scored, and Lilli Clinger going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Ryelle Black got the win going four innings allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out five.

In the nightcap, Clinger had a triple while going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Recording three hits each in the game for Couderspor were Sierra Myers and Savanah Myers.

Sierra Myers was 3-for-4 with two runs scored with Savanah Myers going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Wahler also scored twice in the win going 1-for-3 with a walk, while Hannah Fleniken was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Marah Fowler was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Savanah Myers got the win going three innings allowing two earned runs on a hit, a hit batter, and seven walks while striking out five.

Black pitched two innings giving up two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two.

OSWAYO VALLEY 13, PORT ALLEGANY 7

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – An eight-run sixth inning helped Oswayo Valley to a 13-7 win at Port Allegany.

Trinity Lundy drove in four runs for the Green Wave going 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.

Brooke George, Catelyn Dailey, Jadyn Fleischman, and Sophia Komenda each added a pair of RBIs for Oswayo Valley with George going 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored, Dailey going 2-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored, Fleischman going 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Komenda going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Shayden Messler and Layken Enty each added a pair of hits in the win with Mesler going 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored and Enty going 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored.

Madeline Smith was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs for Port Allegany with Thea Petruzi going 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Mesler got the win going seven innings allowing seven runs, four earned, on seven hits and seven walks while striking out nine.

Cayle Lloyd took the loss going six innings allowing 10 hits and seven walks while striking out five. Makayla Alcorn went a scoreless inning.

OTTO-ELDRED 18, SMETHPORT 0, 3 INNINGS

SMETHPORT, PA. – Katie Sheeler and Kate Rhinehart had run-producing doubles to help Otto-Eldred to an 18-0, three-inning road win over Smethport.

Sheeler was 1-for-1 with an RBI double with Rhinehart going 1-for-2 with a two-run double.

McKenzie Miller and Calley Raught each had RBIs singles in the win as well.

Bri Heller picked up the victory allowing two hits while striking out six in three innings.

Elizabeth Hungiville (2 hits, 6 walks, 3 Ks) and Tyler Colley (3 hits, 6 walks, 1 K) pitched for Smethport.

WILMINGTON 12, MONITEAU 0, 6 innings

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Faith Jones belted two home runs and finished with five RBIs as Wilmington earned a 12-0, 6-inning win over Moniteau.

Paije Peterson also went deep for Wilmington and finished with a pair of RBIs as the Greyhounds built a 6-0 lead after two innings and scored three runs each in the fifth and sixth.

Avery Harlan was 2-for-3 with two runs for Wilmington, while Graeson Grubbs was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run and Malia Baney was 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Ava Williamson struck out 14 and allowed just two hits and one walk in five innings to get the win.

Mariska Shunk suffered the loss, allowing nine runs (eight earned) on 13 hits in five innings, striking out two and walking two.

WEST BRANCH 26, BROOKVILLE 8, 5 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Alaina Royer drove in six runs to lead West Branch to a 26-8, five-inning win at Brookville.

Royer was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Greysyn Gable added four RBIs for the Warriors going 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored while Makena Moore was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBIs, and four runs scored.

Megan McKinney was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs for Brookville with Tory McKinney going 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Also for the Lady Raiders, Alyssa Tollini was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run scored and Jordan Daisley was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Kamryn Mactavish got the win going five innings allowing eight unearned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out 10.

Natasha Rush took the loss. She didn’t record an out and gave up five runs, four earned, on three walks and a hit batter.

Cadence Suhan went five innings giving up 21 runs, 19 earned, on 23 hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out four.
