The fans have spoken and their pick for the best sports moment in District 9 and District 10 during the 2020-21 school year was Clarion’s run to its second-ever PIAA volleyball championship.

The Lady Cats’ near-perfect run was the runaway winner in the fan voting, which concluded Thursday night.

Clarion volleyball had 2,527 votes or 47% of the 4,446 votes cast. It was a one-spot improvement for the Lady Cats, who finished No. 2 in our Top 25 Countdown.

A District 10 storyline involving the Cambridge Springs and Hickory boys both winning titles in each of the three sports season came in second with 21% of the vote or 1,111 votes. That was a large improvement from it finishing in 23rd place in our countdown.

The Clarion voting contingent was out in force helping the Bobcats boys’ basketball team’s run to the D9 1A title and the PIAA semifinals finish in third place with 584 votes or 11% of the voting title. That vote helped the storyline move up from No. 24 in our countdown.

The fans of moments that didn’t back our Top 25 Countdown checked in in fourth place with 207 votes or 4% of the voting, while rounding out the Top Five was Karns City’s Chase Beighley and A-C Valley’s Levi Orton setting their respective school records with 171 votes or 3% of the voting. That is up from No. 25 in our countdown.
