Youngsville Runs Wild in Win over Ike; Prep Stays Perfect; Mosier Powers St. Marys Past DuBois

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville ran wild on Monday, stealing 12 bases in a 13-3, 6-inning win over Eisenhower.

The Eagles scored in every inning but the fourth, including a 6-run third inning.

Keegan Mesel had three hits, an RBI, run, and a pair of stolen bases to pace the Youngsville offense. Mesel talked about the win afterward.

Mesel was one of three Youngsville players with multiple hits, as James Johnson was 2-for-3 with two runs, two walks, and an RBI, Nate Lucks was 2-for-3 with two runs, a double and an RBI and Ian Mancuso was 2-for-3 with two runs, a walk and four stolen bases.

Talon Mesel and Ethan Senz were both 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Eagles, while Wyatt Dalrymple was 1-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.

David Manning came on in relief of Lucks and fired 3 ⅓ hitless innings, striking out six.

Camron Jakubczak, Kael Hunt and Jarius Casey all had a hit and an RBI each for Eisenhower.

Garrett Jensen took the loss, allowing nine runs (four earned) in 2 ⅔ innings on six hits while he struck out four and walked four.

CATHEDRAL PREP 4, MEADVILLE 3

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie and beat Meadville 4-3 to keep its perfect record intact.

In the fifth Joey Spano and Nick Jackson both walked and came around to score on passed balls.

Bradyn Miller’s RBI single in the sixth got Meadville back within one, but the Bulldogs were unable to get the equalizer.

Jason Fultz got the win, going five innings and allowing two runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking one. Luke Costello pitched a perfect seventh with a pair of strikeouts to earn the save.

Andrew Costello was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Ramblers, while Cole Constable was 2-for-3 with a run.

Brady Walker and Jordan Young were both 1-for-4 with an RBI for Meadville.

Walker took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) in 4 ⅔ innings, allowing three hits, striking out seven, and walking five.

ST. MARYS 9, DUBOIS 4

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Logan Mosier had three doubles and five RBIs as St. Marys built a 9-0 lead after five innings on its way to a 9-4 win over DuBois.

Mosier also scored a run as the No. 3 hitter, with the top two hitters in the lineup – Logan Bauer and Charlie Coudriet – doing plenty of damage as well. Bauer was 2-for-3 and scored three runs, while Coudriet was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Vinnie Lenze and Carter Price each had an RBI as well.

      

Bauer started and went four scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight.

Trey Wingard was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for DuBois, while Davey Aughenbaugh was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Brock Smith was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Tycen Roy took the loss, allowing seven runs in 3 ⅓ innings on eight hits, striking out one and walking two.

IROQUOIS 2, ROCKY GROVE 1, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – In a rain-shortened 5-inning game, Ben Burkhardt allowed just two hits and one unearned run as Iroquois earned a 2-1 win over Rocky Grove.

Cole Bennett was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Iroquois.

Logan Patterson tripled for Rocky Grove.

Eli Wilson took the loss, allowing three runs in five innings on five hits, striking out four and walking three.

SOFTBALL

SENECA 19, MERCYHURST PREP 0, 3 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Hannah Wieczorek belted a grand slam, part of a 6-RBI effort as Seneca beat Mercyhurst Prep 19-0 in three innings.

Jenna Lorei also homered and drove in three runs for Senca, which scored 14 runs in the first inning. Also for the Bobcats, Alara Bem was 2-for-4 with two runs, Meghan Konkol was 2-for-3 with two doubles a run, Lauren Konkol was 1-for-2 with an RBI, Mallory Hammill was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and three runs and Khyli Peterson was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.

Lauren Konkol threw three scoreless innings, striking out six and allowing two hits and one walk.

Clarissa Lewis allowed 18 earned runs in the loss for Mercyhurst Prep.
