Keystone Boys Upset Lakeview Behind Freshmen; Harbor Creek Gets OT Win

KNOX, Pa. – Freshman Dom Corcetti scored the game’s final four points in the final 1:01, as Keystone upset visiting Lakeview, 43-39.

Lakeview had tied the game at 39 on an old-school 3-point play by Lucas Fagley with 1:29 to play.

But on the other end, Corcetti scored with 1:01 left to put the Panthers (1-6) up for good.

After Keaten Urey missed a 3-pointer that would have given Lakeview (4-2) the lead, Corcetti was fouled and hit two charity shots with 29.5 left to push the Keystone advantage to four.

                                      

Evan Reiser then missed another 3-pointer for the Sailors, and the Panthers were able to dribble out the win.

After a slow start, Keystone used a 17-point second quarter to take a 20-12 halftime lead.

Corcetti hit a big 3-pointer in the quarter and scored five points, while Eli Nellis and Aiden Patrick each contributed four points.

Lakeview was then able to trim the deficit to six, 29-23, going to the fourth quarter and then outscored the Panthers 16-10 behind six points from Fagley and five from Reiser, who hit a 3-pointer, to tie the game at 39.

Nellis, also a freshman, led Keystone with 12 points, including six in the fourth quarter, while Corcetti also scored six in the final eight minutes and finished with 11 points.

                          

Drew Keth also contributed 12 tallies, including all nine Panther third-quarter points on three 3-pointers, in the win.

Fagley led Lakeview, which was coming off an overtime win Friday night over Rocky Grove, with 14 points with Reiser adding nine tallies and Owen Dye chipping in with eight points.

HARBOR CREEK 56, FREDONIA (N.Y.) 53, overtime

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Tied at 53, Tucker Chwatek hit a 3-pointer with with 5.5 seconds remaining to send Harbor Creek to a 56-53 win over Fredonia (N.Y).

It was part of a big game for Chwatek, who connected for 26 points.

Braylen Wilson had his third-consecutive double-double in the win for Harbor Creek with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Mike Hahn led three Fredonia players in double figures with 17 points, while Ashton Putney had 16 and Davion White.

EISENHOWER 62, FORT LEBOEUF 57

RUSSELL, Pa. – Kyler Black and Kris Bunk scored 15 points each to lead a balanced effort as Eisenhower picked up its fourth-straight win, 62-57 over Fort LeBoeuf

The Knights outscored the Bison 22-14 in the first quarter en route to the win.

                                   

Eisenhower went to the free-throw line 32 times, making 23.

Austin Hanson scored 14 points for Eisenhower, while Gavin Lindemuth added 12.

Dom Russo knocked down five 3’s and finished with 17 points for Fort LeBoeuf, while Ronan Dorler had 12 points and Hunter Villa eight.

RIDGWAY 49, VENANGO CATHOLIC 19

OIL CITY, Pa. – Visiting Ridgway got 16 points from Alex Merritt on its way to a 49-19 win over Venango Catholic.

Ethan Streich added eight points for the Elkers (2-2) while Evan Gustafson netted seven.

Konner Beichner had nine points for Venango Catholic (0-6).

SOUTH ALLEGHENY 59, GROVE CITY 48

PITTSBURGH – Josh Jackowski led three South Allegheny players in double figures with 17 points in a 59-48 win over Grove City.

Drew Cook had 15 points for South Allegheny, while Jeston Beatty had 14.

Nathan Greer scored 13 of his game-high 23 points in the second half for Grove City, while Brett Loughry added 12.
