Austin’s Fowler Records 1,000th Set Assist,Coudy’s Myers 500th Kill; Keystone Upsets Redbank; Guzowski Leads Seneca (Sept. 25 VB Recaps)

ULYSSES, Pa. – Austin’s Marah Fowler recorded 26 set assists, including her 1,000th career set assist to lead Austin to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-17) win at Northern Potter.

Jade Williams had 12 kills to lead the visitors to the victory while Isabella Rees had eight kills and three blocks. Ella Brewer paced the Austin defense with 27 digs.

Haylee Chapman had 13 digs and three kills for Northern Potter while Kayden Brown had 14 digs, five set assists, and two aces.

Reagan Slawson chipped in 11 digs and two kills for NoPo.

SENECA 3, ERIE FIRST CHRISTIAN 0

            

ERIE, Pa. – Ava Guzowski had 11 kills to pace a 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-23) Seneca road win over Erie First Christian.

Emily Stafford added six kills and seven digs for the Bobcats while Izzy Wisniewski chipped in six digs.

Rylee Christie led the Seneca defense with 10 digs.

KEYSTONE 3, REDBANK VALLEY 1

KNOX, Pa. – Behind 11 kills, four blocks, and three aces from Ava Patrick, Keystone upset visiting Redbank Valley, 3-1 (25-14, 24-26, 25-22, 25-22).

                          

Gwyn Manno had a strong game on defense for the Lady Panthers with 24 digs while adding four aces, and Bryanna Mong ran the offense with 14 set assists while also recording an ace.

Taylor Ripple had 11 kills for Redbank Valley with Izzy Bond adding eight kills, Mylee Harmon chipping in seven kills, and Kiara Bonannon six kills.

Elaina Carrico ran the offense for the Lady Bulldogs with 19 set assists.

PORT ALLEGANY 3, OTTO-ELDRED 2

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Port Allegany held off a strong comeback attempt from visiting Otto-Eldred to secure a 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 21-25, 15-11) win.

Kayleigha Dowell had 11 kills, 25 digs, five aces, and two blocks for the Lady Gators while Ella Moses added nine kills, four aces, nine digs, and two blocks, and Jenna Renner had 12 kills and 16 digs.

Isla Lehmier ran the offense for Port Allegany with 30 set assists and added three aces.

Carrie Drummond had a match-high 28 kills for Otto-Eldred while adding 20 digs, three aces, and two blocks. Kate Rhinehart chipped in 14 kills, 16 digs, and an ace, and Rayel Hakes had eight kills and six blocks.

Anna Schuessler ran the offense for the Lady Terrors with 41 set assists and also had two kills and two aces.

BROCKWAY 3, CURWENSVILLE 0

                        

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Lauren Rendos continued her torrid pace of last with 13 kills to lead Brockway to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-23) sweep of visiting Curwensville.

The Week 4 TapNPay+ District 9 Volleyball Player of the Week also added three digs.

Sophia Schmader chipped in seven kills and seven digs in the victory while Kalina Powell had 12 digs and five aces.

Meeca Smith ran the offense for the Lady Rovers with 21 set assists and added two aces.

Briah Peoples led Curwensville with five kills, two set assists, and an ace while Savannah Carley had 10 set assists, two digs, and a kill, and Brooklynn Price added four kills.

         

Janelle Passmore also had three kills and two aces for the Lady Tide.

SAEGERTOWN 3, GENERAL MCLANE 0

EDINBORO, Pa. – A big night hitting from Brywn McLaughlin helped Saegertown sweep to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-18) road win at General McLane.

McLaughlin had 16 kills to lead the way for the Panthers who also got nine kills each from Maggie Triola and Lyndzee Amory.

Rylie Braymer and Alyssa Arblaser led the Saegertown defense with nine digs apiece, and Lindsey Greco ran the offense with 34 set assists.

Cassidy Swain had eight kills, three blocks, and two aces for General McLane with Ellah Beachly pacing the Lancer defense with nine digs and Eva Kyanvash adding six digs.

Morgan Frick had nine set assists, three digs, and an ace for GM, and Libby Opp chipped in five set assists and two digs.

CRANBERRY 3, UNION 0

SENECA, Pa. – Ayanna Ferringer had 20 kills, three digs, three blocks, and three aces to lift Cranberry to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25=22) home win over Union.

Allie Rembold helped set Ferringer up with 13 set assists while adding a pair of aces, while Avery Coe had five aces, three set assists, and three digs.

Also for the Berries, Sarah Schoch chipped in four kills, and Lexi Reisinger had three kills, two aces, and a block.

Gracie Gallagher led Union with four kills, two blocks, and two aces with Kya Wetzel and Magen Walzak each adding two aces.

COUDERSPORT 3, SMETHPORT 0

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Sierra and Savannah Myers combined for 14 kills and nine aces to lift Coudersport to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-5) sweep of visiting Smethport.

Sierra Myers had a match-best nine kills to go with two aces and three blocks, while Savannah Myers added five kills, seven aces, and three digs.

Emilee Ruter also had 10 digs and four aces for the Lady Falcons with Madyson Dubots-Angood chipping in four kills and five digs.

SHEFFIELD 3, A-C VALLEY 0

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – It was an easy night for Sheffield in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-13) home win over A-C Valley.

Kassidy Orinko had an all-around strong match with seven kills, seven aces, and 16 digs while Peyton Wotorson added six kills and Emily Davidson 13 digs.

Kadence Steffan ran the offense for the Lady Wolverines with 19 set assists.

Bella Ielase had two kills and 10 digs for A-C Valley with Brianna Schmidt also adding two kills and Maddy Dehart chipping in seven digs.

MCDOWELL 3, LAUREL 0

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – A balanced offensive effort helped McDowell to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-14) win over Laurel.

Ana Fetzner had seven kills and seven digs for the Trojans while Gabby Deluca also had seven kills.

Sophia Nestor chipped in six kills, while Halle Guentner ran the offense with 19 set assists and added six digs.

Chase Rech paced the Trojans’ defense with 13 digs, Taylor Rech chipped in eight digs, Ari Bico had six digs, and Lexie Radtke contributed five digs.

OSWAYO VALLEY 3, GALETON 0

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Makenna Manning had six kills, six digs, three blocks, and three aces to help Oswayo Valley to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-17) win over visiting Galeton.

Eva West also had six kills to go with four digs and two blocks for the Green Wave, while Praylan Perkins had nine digs, nine kills, three aces, and a block.

DUBOIS 3, CENTRAL MOUNTAIN 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Morgan Pasternak had 10 kills, 11 digs, and an ace to help DuBois to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-13) home sweep of Central Mountain.

Ava Baronick added six kills, 13 digs, and an ace for the Lady Beavers while Alissa Stevens added six kills and nine digs.

Haley Reed ran the DuBois offense with 30 set assists while also serving six aces, coming up with seven digs, and finishing with three kills.

WILMINGTON 3, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 1

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Getting four kills apiece from Makenna Black and Lettie Mahle, Wilmington beat visiting Kennedy Catholic, 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15).

Black added seven digs while Mahle had six blocks.

Loghan Kollar and Charlie Black each had 17 digs for the Greyhounds with Jenna Whiting adding 12 digs and eighth set assists.

Kayah Brewer also had three kills and five blocks for Wilmington, Kyla Berry added eight digs, Ellie Cullen chipped in four digs, and Lainey Todd had three kills and five digs.

CRAWFORD COUNTY CHRISTIAN 3, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 0

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Crawford County Christian swept visiting Tidioute Charter, 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-18).

Vanessa Romanosky had four aces, two kills, a dig, and a block for Tidioute while Callan Patterson added three kills and a dig.

Alica Sabella had a team-best 15 digs for the Bulldogs, and Brooksten Fors contributed five digs and two aces.

WEST MIDDLESEX 3, LAKEVIEW 0

STONEBORO, Pa. – Maggie Briggs had 11 kills and two blocks to help visiting West Middlesex to a 4-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-14) win over Lakeview.

Caitlin Stephens added eight kills, 11 set assists, and two aces for the Big Red who also got five kills, six digs, and three aces from Sloan Mild, and 10 digs from Mercedes McNutt.

Kyndra Seddon had five kills and eight blocks for Lakeview with Emma Marsteller adding 12 digs, two kills, and 15 set assists.

Also for the Sailors, Riley Sample had six kills and five blocks, Allison Sontheimer added six digs, Maddie Douyle chipped in four kills and 11 digs, Leigh Marstellar added nine digs and three kills, and Kendall Emmert had 17 digs.
