St. Marys’ Young Tosses Five-Inning Perfect Game with 13 Ks; Smethport Wins Wild One Over OV; Keystone Edges Forest Area

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Kendall Young tossed a five-inning perfect game recording 13 of the 15 outs by strikeout to lead St. Marys to a 14-0, five-inning win over visiting Bradford.

Shannon Kaiser and Lindsey Reiter combined to drive in five runs for the Lady Dutch with Kaiser going 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs and Reiter going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Gianna Surra scored three times for St. Marys and was 1-for-3 at the plate with a walk and an RBI, while Avery Eckels was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Also for the Lady Dutch, Oliva Eckels scored three times going 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI, and Addison Beimel was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

   

                  

Kalie Dixon took the loss allowing 14 runs, five earned, on eight hits, nine walks, and a hit batter in four innings of work. She struck out five.

SMETHPORT 18, OSWAYO VALLEY 17

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Janell Dinch’s walk-off double with two outs in the seventh capped a six-run seventh inning for Smethport in a stunning 18-17 shootout win over Oswayo Valley.

The Lady Hubbers trailed 17-12 going to the bottom of the seventh but Dinch got the rally started with a leadoff double.

Smethport eventually tied the game on a bases-loaded walk to Ava Gifford with one out, before Dinch doubled to left to win the contest.

                          

The game featured 35 runs, 29 hits, 24 walks (16 by Oswayo Valley), five hit batters, and nine errors (seven by Oswayo Valley).

Dinch’s seventh inning capped a strong afternoon for her, as she was 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Elizabeth Hungiville also went 2-for-6 with a double, three runs scored, and three RBIs for Smethport, while Baylee Fitzsimmons was 3-for-5 with a walk, and three runs scored.

Hope Peterson was also 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored for the Lady Hubbers with Gifford walking three times, driving in a run, and scoring three times. Madi Faes added a 2-for-5 day with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Charity Lapp was 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

               

Brooke George drove in five for Oswayo Valley going 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored, while Catelyn Dailey was 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Also for the Green Wave, Shayden Messler went 1-for-2 with four walks, an RBI, and four runs scored, Layken Enty was 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, Trinity Lundy was 1-for-3 with three walks, two RBIs, and a run scored, and Jadyn Fleischman was 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Hungiville got the win in relief of Tylar Colley going 3 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on a hit, nine walks, and four hit batters. She struck out seven.

Colley pitched 3 ⅔ innings allowing 14 runs, 12 earned, on 12 hits, and seven walks while striking out three.

Mesler was the losing pitcher going 6 ⅔ innings allowing 19 runs, 14 earned, on 16 hits, eight walks, and a hit batter while striking out eight.

KEYSTONE 10, FOREST AREA 8

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – scoring seven of its 10 runs in its first two at-bats, visiting Keystone beat Forest Area, 10-8.

Emma Gruber hit a home run for the Lady Panthers while going 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, while Natalie Bowser was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Leah Exley added a pair of RBIs and three runs scored while going 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, and Lydia Sheatz was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Exley got the win going seven innings allowing eight runs, four earned, on 12 hits and a walk while striking out five.

            

Madison McFarland hit a home run for Forest Area while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Akeela Greenawalt was 3-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI for the Fires with Anna Stitt going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Izzy Flick also went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Flick took the loss going seven innings allowing 10 runs, four earned, on eight hits, five walks, and two hit batters while striking out nine.

CRANBERRY 16, CLARION-LIMESTONE 2, 5 INNINGS

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Scoring four runs in each of the first two innings and then adding six in the fourth, visiting Cranberry rolled past Clarion-Limestone, 16-2, in five innings.

Cassie Scarbrough had a big game for the Berries going 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. She was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game and talked about the win.

Keelie Schneider added an inside-the-park home run going 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

Also for Cranberry, Rylee Coe and Katelyn Beggs each added a pair of RBIs with Coe going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Jadyn Shumaker also had a pair of hits in the victory going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Abby Knapp hit a home run for C-L and was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, while Jenna Dunn was 2-for-3.

Reyna Watson got the win going five innings allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six.

Kaylee Smith took the loss tossing five innings allowing 16 runs, seven earned, on 15 hits and five walks while striking out three.

A-C VALLEY/UNION 16, CLARION 1, 3 INNINGS

SLIGO, Pa. – Mackenzie Parks hit a home run and drove in four runs to lead A-C Valley/Union to a 16-1, three-inning win over visiting Clarion.

Parks was 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored.

Nella Ielase and Lexi Bauer both added three runs scored with Ielase going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Bauer walking once and picking up an RBI.

Maddy Dehart and Alyvia Hartzel both added a pair of hits for the Falcon Knights with Dehart going 2-for-2 with an RBI and Hartzel 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Emerson Stevens played a role in the win on offense going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Magen Walzak was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Emileigh Mahle was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored for Clarion, while Emily Troese went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Parks got the win going three innings allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Haylee Cratsley took the loss going two innings allowing 16 runs, eight earned, on 13 hits and three walks while striking out three.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 16, BROCKWAY 1, 4 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – A nine-run first inning set the tone for Elk County Catholic in a 16-1, four-inning win over Brockway at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Ellie Baron and Emily Mourer each hit home runs for the Lady Crusaders with Mourer’s being a first-inning grand slam.

Syd Alexander added a double while going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Mya Pistner walked three times, scored twice, and drove in two, Sofiya Cherry was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lucy Klawuhn was 1-for-1 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Mourier got the win going three innings allowing an earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out six. Mackenzie Billie pitched one scoreless inning allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one.

Meghan Hertel took the loss going three innings giving up 14 runs, 11 earned, on eight hits, seven walks, and four hit batters while striking out one.

BROOKVILLE 14, PORT ALLEGANY 4

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Cadence Suhan went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored to help visiting Brookvolle to a 14-4 win over Port Allegany.

Megan McKinney added three runs scored for the Lady Raiders while going 1-for-4, while Tory McKinney was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Makayla Alcorn was 2-for-4 with a double for Port Alleghany with Cayle Lloyd going 1-for-4 with an RBI double and Emily Baumgarner going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.

Alyssa Tollin got the win going seven innings allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out eight.

Lloyd took the loss giving up eight hits and six walks while striking out three. Alcorn also pitched giving up two hits while striking out one.

COUDERSPORT 17, CAMERON COUNTY 2, 3 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Madyson Dubots-Angood had four hits, including a double, to lift Coudersport to a 17-2, three-inning win over visiting Cameron County.

Dubots-Angood was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Savanah Myers added a 3-for-4 day with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Falcons, while Sierra Myers was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Laura Dunn, Alissa Dunn, and Ryelle Black each drove in a pair of runs as well for Coudersport with Laura Dunn walking three times and scoring three times, Alissa Dunn going 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and Black going 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Black got the win going two innings. She didn’t allow a hit but was charged with two runs on five hits. Savanah Myers went a scoreless inning walking two and striking out two.

DUBOIS 13, PUNXSUTAWNEY 2, 5 INNINGS

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – A six-run first and a five-run fifth helped DuBois to a 13-2, five-inning win at Punxsutawney.

Ava Baronick led the way with her arm and her bat for the Lady Beavers.

Barnonick was 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBIs, and was also the winning pitcher going five innings allowing two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

Gabby Gulvas and Audrey Hale each added three RBIs for DuBois with Gulvas going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two runs scored and Hale going 2-for-3 with a home run and a run scored.

Also for the Lady Beavers, Haley Reed was 1-for-4 with a home run, a run scored, and two RBIs, Morgan Pasternak was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored, Alexus Pfeufer was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Aaliyah Estrada was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Bree Weible was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Ciara Toven hit a home run for Punxsutawney and was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Toven took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.
