St. Marys’ Lukaschunis Named Week Three 2022 District 9 Jim Kelly POW Powered by the Allegheny Grille

   
   

WARREN, Pa. – Alex Lukaschunis was all over the field for St. Marys in the Dutch’s 30-0 win over Kane, and that is a big reason the senior offensive/defensive lineman/punter is the Week 3 2022 YDL Sports Network D9and10Sports.com District 9 Jim Kelly Football Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Lukaschunis made his presence felt on defense with seven tackles, including three for a loss and two sacks. On special teams, he blocked a punt and. as the Dutch punter. had two of his boots downed inside the 3-yard line.

Additional players who need to be mentioned who had fantastic weeks – it should be kept in mind that stats are not the sole driver of the Player of the Week with such important factors including opponent, the importance of the game, clutch play, and others equally weighed – include Elk County Catholic’s Noah Cherry (183 yards rushing, 4 TDs), Brockway’s Alex Carlson (12 catches, 197 yards, 3 TDs, 1 Int on defense) and Brayden Fox (19 of 28 passing, 355 yards, 6 TDs), Port Allegany’s Noah Archer (150 yards rushing, 2 TDs; 2 Ints on defense), Otto-Eldred’s Hunter App (202 yards rushing, 1 TD), and Keystone’s Kyle Nellis (108 yards rushing, 1 TD; 52-yard TD pass).

Those players are joined on the Honor Roll by Redbank Valley’s Tate Minich (8 catches, 76 yards, 2 TDs) and Ashton Kahle (5 catches, 86 yards, punt return to the 2-yard line; at least 3 key pass breakups on defense), Clearfield’s Brady Collins (158 yards rushing, 3 TDs), St. Marys’ Charlie Coudriet (126 yards passing, 3 TDs; 119 yards rushing), Bradford’s Talon Reese (20 of 39 passing, 283 yards, 2 TDs), and Central Clarion’s Conor Kopnitsky (84 yards rushing, 3 TDs).

Jim Kelly is the Hall of Fame quarterback of the Buffalo Bills who grew up in East Brady, Pa. and went to Miami (Fla). Kelly was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002 after passing for over 45,000 yards as a pro, including two seasons in the USFL, with 320 career touchdown passes. He led the Bills to four straight AFC Titles. Kelly’s name on the award is being used with his permission.
