LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Former Slippery Rock High School standout pitcher Ricky Mineo earned All-PSAC West honors for his hometown university.

Mineo, a sophomore, garnered second-team recognition, one of five Rock players to earn PSAC West honors, joining teammates Connor Hamilton, Jon Kozarian, Alex Robenolt and Abraham Mow.

Mineo made six appearances, all starts, and all Slippery Rock wins. He went 4-0 with a 3.29 ERA and an opponent batting average against of .228. In 27 ⅓ innings, he allowed 23 hits, walked just eight, and struck out 47.

The Rock went 23-14, including a 4-game sweep of IUP to close the season.

SRU was one of seven teams listed as “under consideration” in the first set of regional rankings released by the NCAA last week. The top seven teams in the Atlantic Region will qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The field will be released on May 23.
