Sheeler Homers, Heller Dominant as O-E Beats Johnsonburg; Moniteau Rallies for Wild Win Over Karns City

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Katie Sheeler went 2-for-4 with a solo home run as Otto-Eldred beat Johnsonburg, 6-1.

Bri Heller limited Johnsonburg to just two hits, allowing just one unearned run while striking out eight and walking two.

Otto-Eldred built a 4-0 lead after four innings as Jessi Hall, Heidi Gorton, and Carrie Drummond drove in one run each. Drummond also had a pair of doubles. Kate Rhinehart finished 2-for-4 with a run.

Julia Jones took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out 10.

MONITEAU 15, KARNS CITY 14, 8 innings

   

                  

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Moniteau scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally for a wild 15-14 win over Karns City.

Karns City scored seven runs in the top half of the eighth, but Ashley Huffman’s bases-loaded walk brought in Alex Stewart, who singled earlier in the inning.

Back-to-back RBI singles from Mariksa Shunk and Brianna Rottman got the rally going for Moniteau, while Autumn Stewart had an RBI fielder’s choice, Emily Staab had an RBI single, Lily Staab was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Addy Williams had an RBI single to tie the game at 14-14.

Bailey O’Donnell, Addison Burrows, and Jess Dunn all had RBI doubles in the top of the eighth for Karns City.

Williams had a 3-run home run for Moniteau, part of a 5-for-6, 5-RBI effort, while Huffman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, Rottman was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Alex Stewart was 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs and Emma Covert 2-for-4 with a sole home run and two runs scored.

                          

Covert got the complete-game win, allowing 10 earned runs on 18 hits, walking four, and striking out three.

Burrows took the loss for Karns City, allowing seven earned runs in 7 ⅓ innings on 15 hits, striking out four and walking three.

Nicole Taylor was 4-for-6 with two RBIs, O’Donnell was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Jada Polczynski was 4-for-6 with an RBI and four runs for Karns City.

A-C VALLEY/UNION 8, ROCKY GROVE 2

               

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Lexi Bauer was 3-for-4 with a triple, home run, and six RBIs in A-C Valley/Union’s 8-2 win over Rocky Grove.

A-C Valley/Union scored three runs in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the seventh to earn the win. Bella Ielase was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and three runs scored and Maddy Dehart and Rylan Strausser also had one RBI each, while Alivya Hartzell had a pair of hits.

Mackenzie Parks got the complete game win, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out eight and walking one.

Kaylin Jacoby had an inside-the-park homer for Rocky Grove.

Elizabeth Mawhinney took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) in 3 ⅔ innings on four hits, striking out five and walking one.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 16, CLARION 3, 5 innings

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Alyssa Wiant was 2-for-3 with two doubles, five RBIs, and three runs in Clarion-Limestone’s 16-3, 5-inning win over Clarion.

C-L scored multiple runs in every inning, including five in both the third and fourth.

Abby Knapp was 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, and four runs for C-L, while Olivia Smith was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Samantha Simpson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, and Jenna Dunn 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Dunn got the win, allowing three runs (two earned) in five innings on three hits, striking out nine without issuing a walk.

            

Hadley Campbell hit a 2-run home run for Clarion.

Haylee Cratsley took the loss, allowing 16 runs (six earned) on 13 hits.

ST. MARYS 17, CLEARFIELD 0, 3 innings

ST. MARYS, Pa. – St. Marys scored 12 runs in the second in a 17-0, 3-inning win over Clearfield.

Gianna Surra went 2-for-2 with four RBIs for St. Marys, while Lindsey Reiter was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, Kendall Young was 1-for-1 with two RBIs, two walks, and two runs and Olivia Eckles was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Shannon Kaiser tossed three hitless innings to get the win, striking out one and allowing three walks.

Megan Wisor took the loss for Clearfield, allowing 12 hits and six walks.

KEYSTONE 7, REDBANK VALLEY 5

KNOX, Pa. – Keystone scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie in a 7-5 win over Redbank Valley.

Emilee Dixon had an RBI single in the sixth to give Keystone the lead for good, with Lydia Sheatz tacking on an insurance run on a fielder’s choice.

Keystone led 4-3 after the first inning.

Natalie Bowser, Leah Exley, and Emma Gruber all doubled for Keystone.

Exley got the win, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits and striking out eight without issuing a walk.

Quinn White was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI,, and three runs for Redbank, while Mackenzie Foringer was 4-for-4 with a run scored and Taylor Ripple also had a pair of hits.

Foringer took the loss, allowing six earned runs on four hits and six walks, striking out 12.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 6, PUNXSUTAWNEY 5

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. – Emilty Gustkey’s RBI fielder’s choice in the sixth inning proved to be the difference as Philipsburg-Osceola earned a 6-5 win over Punxsutawney.

Punxsutawney rallied from a 5-2 deficit, with a pair of errors allowing them to tie the game in the sixth.

Mykenna Bryan drove in a pair of runs for P-O.

Alivia Bizzarri got the win, allowing two earned runs over her seven innings on nine hits, striking out 10 and walking four.

Ciara Toven hit a 2-run homer in the first inning for Punxsy and drove in three total runs, while Olivia Toven was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Emily Dobbins was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run.

Ciara Toven took the loss, allowing 11 hits and one walk while striking out six.
