Sept. 26, 2022 Soccer: Big Wins for Port Boys/Girls; DuBois Girls Hand Clearfield First Loss; Coudy, GM, Slippery Rock Boys Triumph

GALETON, Pa. – Nash Delp, Jacob Hooftallen, and Micah Baston all scored as Coudersport earned a hard-fought 3-2 win over Galeton.

Hooftallen, Mason Roessner (two), Andy Chen, and Delp had assists for the Falcons.

Braidyn Rumsey had six stops in net for the Falcons.

GENERAL MCLANE 2, MERCYHURST PREP 0

ERIE, Pa. -Carter Sindlinger and Cooper Robson both scored goals as General McLane picked up a big 2-0 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

            

Gio Masone and Seth Massey had assists for the Lancers (7-3), who scored one goal in each half.

PORT ALLEGANY 2, BROCKWAY 1

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Austin Hamilton scored in the first half and Alex Schott in the second half as Port Allegany built a 2-0 lead en route to a 2-1 win over Brockway.

Justin Dunn and Aidan Emerick had assists for Port.

Jimmy Fremer scored for Brockway.

                          

Aidan Clark had three stops in net for the 8-1 Gators, while Jacob Maze had six saves for Brockway.

MERCER 5, WEST MIDDLESEX 0

MERCER, Pa. – Garrett Thumm had a pair of goals as Mercer blanked West Middlesex, 5-0.

Max Ellis, Max Glaros, and Joseph Ferrans had one goal apiece. Ellis, Thumm, Luke Childers, and Eli Elison had one assist each.

JR Schepp had the clean sheet in net with one save.

ST. MARYS 5, NORTHERN POTTER 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Five different St. Marys players scored goals in a 5-0 win over Northern Potter.

Dawson Krug, Jason McAnany, James Pistner, Casey Young, and Caleb Keiper all scored for the Dutchmen, who led 4-0 at halftime.

Lucasz Curtis had two assists for St. Marys, while Liam Brem, McAnany, and Pistner had one each.

REDBANK VALLEY 1, WEST SHAMOKIN 1

                        

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – One hundred minutes weren’t enough as Redbank Valley and West Shamokin battled to a 1-1 draw.

Nick Moore scored for Redbank Valley on an assist from Ty Carrier.

SLIPPERY ROCK 2, GREENVILLE 1

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Cole Kavacik and Hunter Berry both scored to send Slippery Rock to a 2-1 win over Greenville.

Rasce Stefanowicz had the lone goal for Greenville.

         

GROVE CITY 3, HICKORY 1

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Pierson Badowski, Jimmy Irani and Caleb Baumgartner all scored goals to help Grove City to a 3-1 win over Hickory.

Irani also had an assist, while Jacob Stucchio had three stops in net.

Hickory scored off a corner kick by Lukas Jones, assisted by Logan Gordon. Matt Maitland had four stops in net for the Hornets.

WARREN 6, TITUSVILLE 1

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Logan Crissey’s hat trick helped Warren overcome both the Rockets and the rain in a 6-1 win at Titusville on Monday.

The win was Warren’s fifth straight after starting the season 1-3. Crissey netted his first three goals of the season, also the first three of the freshman’s varsity career.

Parks Ordiway, Mark Lynds, and Gavin Rex each scored a goal as well.

Finn Ordiway had three assists, while Jack Chapman and Jack Darling had one assist each.

GIRLS

DUBOIS 3, CLEARFIELD 1

DUBOIS, Pa. – Dubois scored three unanswered goals to hand Clearfield its first loss of the season, 3-1.

Mia Smith got Clearfield on the board first, but Dubois rallied to take a 2-1 halftime advantage on goals from Emily Graeca and Leah McFadden (from Rachel Sickeri).

Kaitlyn McGahey added a late insurance goal for DuBois.

Jasmine Carney had nine stops in net for DuBois in the win and Cayleigh Walker two for Clearfield.

PORT ALLEGANY 5, RIDGWAY 1

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Evin Stauffer recorded a hat trick to help Port Allegany to a 5-1 win over Ridgway.

Kailey Bartlett and Olivia Schott also found the back of the net for Port Allegany. Bartlett had two assists and Schott and Lily Madison one each.

Brielle Budd and Jennifer Baxter combined for four stops in net for Port.

Sara Zameroski had three stops Ridgway.
