BOYS’ GOLF

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Punxsutawney’s Jackson Craft shot a 43 to earn medalist honors and lead the Chucks to a narrow 190-192 win over Brookville at Pinecrest Golf Course.

John Carjo shot a 45 for the Chucks, while Ian PEte and Killian Radel shot a 46 and 47 respectively for the Raiders.

BEAVERS WIN REGION 4 MATCH

            

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Corry’s Nate James shot a 74, one of three Corry players in the 70s, to lead the Beavers to a Region 4 Mega Match win at Cross Creek.

Maxx Rimdzius shot a 77 and Tyler Hasbrouck a 79 for Corry. The Beavers actually featured the top four finishers, as Zac Ahl carded an 84.

CATHEDRAL PREP WINS REGION 6 MATCH

ERIE, Pa. – Cathedral Prep’s Evan Rowane shot 70 and the Ramblers cruised to a Region 6 Mega Match win at Whispering Woods.

The Ramblers outdistanced second-place McDowell by 17 strokes.

                          

Meadville’s Michael Mahoney was second with a 76, while Prep’s Breckin Taylor and McDowell’s Joey DeAngelo each shot 78.

BOYS’ SOCCER

KANE 4, COUDERSPORT 3, OT

KANE, Pa. – Josh Greville secured a hat trick and a Kane victory over Coudersport with his overtime goal with two minutes left in the first OT.

Kane actually led 2-0, after Jon Mishic scored first, followed by a Greville penalty kick goal, but Coudy rallied to take a 3-2 lead at the half on markers from Jacob Hootfallen, Ethan Ross and Caleb Burdick.

Greville scored the equalizer with just under 14 minutes to go.

Johnny Felkis had two assists and Mishic one.

BROOKVILLE 6, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1

DuBOIS, Pa. — Logan Oakes and Zakk Wolfe each scored two goals to lead the visiting Brookville Raiders to a 6-1 win over DuBois Central Catholic.

Hayden Kramer and Thomas Bowser also found the net for the Raiders while Wolfe, Steven Plyler, Garner McMaster and Oakes had assists.

                        

Neel Gupta scored for the Cardinals.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MAPLEWOOD 2, TITUSVILLE 1

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Maya Marshall and Natalie Kurt scored first-half goals to lead Maplewood to a 2-1 victory over Titusville.

Lindsay Sines scored in the second half for the Rockets.

         

CLARION 5, KEYSTONE 0

KNOX, Pa. – Evelyn Lerch recorded a hat trick and Alexis Coull and Alex Leadbetter had a goal each to send Clarion past Keystone.

WARREN 13, OIL CITY 0

WARREN – Kyliegh Wilson, Kyra Wotorson and Georgie Bickling each had seven points as Warren rolled to an 11-0 win over Oil City at War Memorial Field Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Wilson scored four goals and added three assists, Wotorson had three goals and four assists and Bickling had a pair of goals and five assists in the season-opening win for the Lady Dragons.

Wilson was on the pitch for the first time since suffering a season-ending injury last September, and picked up right where she left off a year ago.

Eliza Brook netted a pair and Paige Johnson, in her first game after a one-year hiatus, and Sydney Rex each had a goal. Alyssa Andersen had the shut out in goal.

VOLLEYBALL

A-C VALLEY 3, VENANGO CATHOLIC 0

OIL CITY, Pa. – A-C Valley beat Venango Catholic in three sets, 25-15, 25-8, 25-9.

Andrea Meals had 9 kills, 8 digs and 14 service points, Rachel Cullen 12 assists and Mia Sherman 16 service points for A-C Valley.

Cheyanne Rudder had 8 digs and 1 kill for VC.

TENNIS

CLEARFIELD 4, DUBOIS 3

CLEARFIELD, Pa. – Clearfield won all four singles matches and DuBois all three doubles contests as the Bison edged the Beavers.

At No. 1 singles, Kylie VanTassel beat Grace Askey (6-1, 6-1), followed by a win at No 2 from Lindsey Kerlin over Steph Juarez (6-4, 6-1).

At No. 3 singles Ally Gaines beat Olivia Reed (6-2, 6-4) and Peyton Reece edged Lydia Dixon (6-4).

The team of Gaines and Kerlin won at No. 1 doubles (8-4) for DuBois, as did Katelyn Olson and Kendyl Luzier (8-1) and Lauryn Kitchen Kirstie VanTassel (8-5).

DuBois was playing without No. 1 singles player Jess Askey.

“I was proud of Olivia Reedin singles and all the doubles teams,” said DuBois coach Lori Sabatose. “Grace Askey and Steph Jaurez played great at No. 1 doubles.”
