Sept. 13, 2021 Soccer: St. Marys, Fairview Boys Get Clutch Wins; Brookville, Clearfield Girls Triumph

   

ST. MARYS, Pa. – St. Marys earned hard-fought 5-4 boys soccer win over Port Allegany on Monday.

Jason McAnany, James Pistner, Luke Anderson and Matthew Palmer all scored for St. Marys.

River Cramer had a hat trick for the Gators and Aidan Emerick had the other goal.

Casey Young and Carter Dush combined for eight stops for St. Marys, as did Terry Ireland and Aidan Clark for Port.

REDBANK VALLEY 12, KEYSTONE 1

            

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Owen Clouse had three goals and Owen Harmon two to help lead Redbank Valley past Keystone.

Tyson Adams, Kaedyn Pago, Seth Barrett, Brayden McCauley, Ty Carrier, Kieran Fricko and Cole Monrean also scored for Redbank.

Harmon had three assists, Carrier, McCauley and Fricko two and Clouse one.

BROCKWAY 6, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1

DUBOIS, Pa. – Noah Adams had four goals as Brockway beat DCC, 6-1.

                          

Marcus Bennett and Garrett Park also scored for Brockway, while Jared Marchiori had three assists and Dylen Coder, Evan Botwright and Adm Lin one each.

KARNS CITY 3, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Karns City scored two goals in a 5-minute span in the second half to take a 3-0 lead and win 3-1 over Clarion-Limestone.

Brandon Slater, Myles McCully and Colson Ritzert all scored for the Gremlins with McCully, Ritzert and Mallick Metcalfe notching assists.

Wyatt Borden scored for C-L.

KANE 5, FOREST AREA 0

KANE, Pa. Jon Mishic recorded a hat trick as Kane blanked Forest Area.

Alex Bechakas and Josh Greville each had one goal, while Kayden Miller had two assists and Mishic, Greville and Bechakas one each. The game was called at halftime due to lightning.

WARREN 4, NORTH EAST 2

NORTH EAST, Pa. – JT Blum recorded a hat trick and Parks Ordiway added a goal and two assists to help Warren to a 4-2 win over North East.

                        

Roman Sheets and Ethan Best also had helpers for the Dragons.

Krew Ksenich had both of North East’s goals.

SLIPPERY ROCK 6, SHARON 0

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Nick Kingerski recorded a hat trick to lead Slippery Rock to a 6-0 blanking of Sharon.

Cullen Birkes and David Magliocca also scored for the Rockets.

         

Connor Wallace and Josh Book combined on the shutout.

CATHEDRAL PREP 6, HARBOR CREEK 0

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Chris Morphy and Luke Trocki scored two goals each as Prep beat Harbor Creek, 6-0.

Reece Johnson and Noah Handzel also scored for the Ramblers.

GROVE CITY 4, GREENVILLE 2

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Pierson Badowski and Jacob Irani scored two goals each to help lead Grove City past Greenville.

Rasce Stefanowicz scored for Greenville.

MCDOWELL 10, BRADFORD 0

ERIE, Pa. – Robbie Umpleby scored four goals as McDowell blanked Bradford.

Max Murphy, Luis Corrales, Braedan Martin, Andrew Dance and Mitch Hallman all added markers for the Trojans as well.

FAIRVIEW 2, MERCYHURST PREP 1

ERIE, Pa. – Zack Scott and Josh Howells both scored goals to help Fairview to a 2-1 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

Shea Weislogel found the back of the net for the Lakers.

ERIE 4, GENERA MCLANE 1

ERIE, Pa. – Ahmed Sadoon scored a pair of goals to help Erie past General McLane.

Amar Balkhi and Charles Lakole also scored for the Royals.

Cooper Robson had GM’s lone tally.

BROOKVILLE 2, REDBANK VALLEY 1

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Brookville got two first-half goals from Jazmines Sarvey-Vasquez and Autumn Walter in the first half to help Brookville past Redbank Valley, 2-1.

Alayna Haight had an assist for Brookville.

Alexandra Shoemaker scored for Redbank on an assist from Ember Hetrick in the second half.

CLEARFIELD 3, DUBOIS 1

HYDE, Pa. – Emma Hipps scored three goals to help lead Clearfield past DuBois.

Riley Ryan assisted on two of the goals and Elle Smith the other. Rachel Sickeri scored on a direct kick for DuBois.

Jaylee Gill made five stops for Clearfield and Kara Tilson 10 for DuBois.
