Schmader Sisters Lead Brockway to OT Win at Union; Curwensville Gets First Victory

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Madelyn Schmader scored four overtime points to help Brockway pick up a 36-33 win at Union.

Union trailed 22-18 going to the fourth quarter but forced overtime when Hailey Theuret hit a running 3-pointer from the top of the circle as time expired to knot the game at 31.

But in overtime, the Lady Rovers outdistanced the Golden Damsels, 5-2, thanks to Madilyn Schmader, who scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Madilyn Schmader added eight steals and eight rebounds in the win, while her younger sister, Sophia, had 12 points, nine rebounds, and seven steals.

Raegan Gelnette chipped in eight rebounds and three points in the victory.

Cheyenne Dowling led Union with eight points with Theuret adding seven and Ava Strauser chipped in six points.

CURWENSVILLE 43, HARMONY 37

                          

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Skylar Pentz had 12 points and 14 rebounds to help Curwensville grab its first win of the season with a 43-37 victory over visiting Harmony.

A 16-6 third-quarter advantage helped the Lady Tide give first-year head coach Dawna Wheeler her first victory.

Curwensville trailed 20-17 at halftime but took a 33-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

Natalie Wischuck added nine points and seven rebounds for Curwensville with Karleigh Fryer chipping in eight points aid six rebounds.

Sydney Winings had 14 points for Harmony with Jaylee Beck adding 10 tallies.

RIDGWAY 39, KANE 30

KANE, Pa. – Jenna Kasmierski had 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven blocked shots to help Ridgway to a 39-30 road AML crossover win at Kane.

Gabby Amacher added 13 points and five assists for the Lady Elkers.

Mia Anderson had 12 points for Kane with Maya Smith adding 10 points and Cora Jekielek eight points.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 48, JOHNSONBURG 35

                                   

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Hope Jacob and Kayley Risser combined to score 27 points to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 48-35 win over Johnsonburg.

Hope Jacob led the Lady Cardinals with 14 points with Risser adding 13.

Marina Hanes chipped in eight points for DCC.

Ella Lindberg had 13 points for Johnsonburg with Cadence Brechtel adding nine tallies.

ELK COUNTY 42, DUBOIS 26

DUBOIS, Pa. – A double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds from Tori Newton helped Elk County Catholic to a 42-26 road D9 League win over DuBois.

Emily Mourer added eight points with Syd Alexander and Lucy Klawuhn each adding six points.

Madison Rusnica scored nine points for DuBois with Kamryn Fontana adding seven points.

ST. MARYS 59, BRADFORD 27

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Olivia Eckels poured in 19 points to lead St. Marys past visiting Bradford, 59-27, in D9 League action.

Jayssa Snelick added 11 points for the Lady Dutch with Rosa DePrator hitting three 3-pointers and finishing with nine tallies.

Kalie Dixon paced Bradford with 14 points.

CLARION 44, FOREST AREA 21

CLARION, Pa. – Gia Babington had 21 points to lead Clarion past visiting Forest Area, 44-21.

Natalie Durish added seven points and Sophie Babington six points for the Lady Cats.

                                  

Jayden Colvin led Forest Area with eight points and six steals with Amber Guzzi adding four points and five steals.
