WARREN, Pa. – A year ago on its way to the PIAA Class 1A championship game, Redbank Valley lost just once – the season opener to Keystone.

This year Cam Wagner made sure there would be no repeat of that loss going 14 of 18 for 389 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 42-7 win over the visiting Panthers. That is why the senior QB is the Week 4 2022 YDL Sports Network Player of the Week powered by the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Additional players who need to be mentioned who had fantastic weeks – it should be kept in mind that stats are not the sole driver of the Player of the Week with such important factors including opponent, the importance of the game, clutch play, and others equally weighed – include Central Clarion’s Ryan Hummell (17 tackles, 2 ints, 1 fumble recovery), Clearfield’s Will Comico (8-for-8 passing, 249 yards, 5 TDs), Kane’s Ricky Zampogna (25 carries, 189 yards, 5 TDs; 4 catches, 91 yards), Elk County Catholic’s Frankie Smith (interception return for a TD; punt return for a TD; 3 carries, 46 yards), and Otto-Eldred’s Andrew Schenfield (13 of 26 for 265 yards, 4 TDs).

Those players are joined on the Honor Roll by Union/A-C Valley’s Dawson Camper (15 carries, 103 yards, 3 TDs; 1 of 1 passing, 44 yards), Clearfield’s Isaac Samsel (4 catches, 129 yards, 3 TDs) and Carter Freeland (3 catches, 114 yards, 2 TDs), Brookville’s Easton Belfiore (10 of 16 passing, 197 yards, 1 TD), Redbank Valley’s Aiden Ortz (4 catches, 161 yards, 2 TDs), Central Clarion’s Jase Ferguson (12 of 23, 249 yards, 4 TDs), Port Allegany’s Drew Evens (13 of 20 passing, 217 yards, 3 TDs) and Noah Archer (7 catches, 122 yards, 2 TDs), and Otto-Eldred’s Manning Splain (6 catches, 125 yards, 3 TDs).
