MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The beginning of winter sports practices, which are slated for this Friday, Nov. 20, will proceed as scheduled, according to the PIAA.

The governing body of high school athletics in Pennsylvania reaffirmed that stance at their board meeting on Wednesday.

The PIAA did say, however, that they are ‘proceeding with an abundance of caution,’ per the committee meeting minutes.

Concerns have emerged over the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state, as Pennsylvania had 6,339 new positive cases on Wednesday.
