Pair of Champions to be Crowned on Busy Day of D10 Girls Playoff Hoops Saturday

WARREN, Pa. – The District 10 girls basketball playoffs get underway on Saturday, with a pair of champions to be crowned in Class 6A and Class 4A.

In a doubleheader at Mercyhurst Prep, McDowell battles Erie for the Class 6A crown, while Villa takes on Fort LeBoeuf to followed at 4:30 p.m.

Also, there is a full slate of quarterfinal action in Classes 5, 3 and 2A.

Here’s a look at each.

                                      

CLASS 6A CHAMPIONSHIP

(2) ERIE vs. (1) MCDOWELL

Records: Erie 6-13; McDowell 13-7
Top Players: Erie – Torreuna Roberts 8.0 ppg., Arianna Mitchell 7.6 ppg., JyNaiza Selby 5.7 pgg.; McDowell – Caylen Spano 9.5 ppg., Jessica Hetz 9.4 ppg.; Amaiya Nelson 6.5 ppg.
Winner Gets: District 8 champion in subregional on Wednesday (March 2.)
Notable: Teams split regular-season series, with Erie winning 28-27 in the first meeting and McDowell 45-30 in the second meeting.

CLASS 4A CHAMPIONSHIP
