PAC Football Roundup: Greenville Alum Swartz Hauls in Long TD as Allegheny Topples Waynesburg: Parrish, Grove City Triumph

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College freshman and Greenville freshman Levi Swartz had a 63-yard touchdown reception in the Gators’ 31-15 over Waynesburg.

Senior tailback Tre Worship (East Cleveland, Ohio/Shaw) ran for a career-high 201 yards and a pair of scores in the win for Allegheny.

To the delight of the over 4,200 fans in attendance at Frank B. Fuhrer Field on Blue & Gold Weekend, the Gators (2-2, 1-1 PAC) earned their first Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) victory in their first home PAC game since the 1983 season.

GROVE CITY 42, SAINT VINCENT 7

GROVE CITY, Pa. – West Middlesex grad Clayton Parrish rushed for 107 yards and Moniteau alum James Parenti had five tackles in Grove City College’s 42-7 win over Saint Vincent.

Ryan Montgomery (Slippery Rock), Curtis Freyermuth (Cochranton) and Kobe Bonanno (Redbank Valley) all had tackles in the win as well for the Wolverines.

Grove City held Saint Vincent (1-3, 1-1) to 54 rushing yards and blanked the Bearcats until 17 seconds remained in the game.

NO. 17 CARNEGIE MELLON 35, THIEL 6

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The 17th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University football team traveled north to play the Thiel College Tomcats on Saturday. The Tartans defeated the Tomcats 35-6 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) action.

Eisenhower grad Owen Trumbull had a 1-yard rushing touchdown and threw for 176 yards in the loss for Thiel, while Bradford alum Donnie Pattison had four receptions for 18 yards.

WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON 50, BETHANY 7

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Bethany College football team opened up Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) play against Washington & Jefferson College, Saturday evening. The Presidents’ cruised to a 50-7 win over the Bison.
