An Oil CIty team that went 10-1 and rolled to a District 10 Class 4A title was rewarded with four players named to the Pa. Football Writers’ Class 4A All-State team on Wednesday.

Honored for the Oilers were running back Cam Russell, defensive lineman Mario Fontanazza, defensive lineman Justin Fagley and defensive back Dakota Cole.

Fontanazza helped pave the way for an offense that scored 73 touchdowns on the season, led by Russell, who had 20 on the ground and 1,483 yards.

Fontanazza, whose all-state selection did come on the defensive side of the ball, had 72 tackles, 13 of which came for loss, as well as eight sacks.

Fagley, meanwhile led the Oilers with 14 sacks, while Cole had six interceptions. It’s a defense that went a month this season without allowing a point.

Jersey Shore’s Owen Anderson was named Player of the Year and his coach, Tom Gravish, Coach of the Year.
