Oct. 8, 2020 Tennis Recaps: Greenville edges Oil City

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Anna Cooper and Ella Hildebrand won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, to help Greenville to a 3-2 win over Oil City.

Copper beat Payton Bunk 6-0, 6-1 and Hildebrand beat Kayla DeShazo, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Oil City’s Emily Russell topped Alaina Gregory, 6-1, 6-1.

At No. 1 doubles, Greenville’s MaKenna Philson and Riley Uber won a 3-set thriller against Emily Bly and Cassidy Sutley, 3-6, 6-0, 7-5.

At No. 2 doubles, Oil City’s Kylee Copley and Kaitlin Smith were a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Holly Addison and Katherine Cooper.

HICKORY 4, WILMINGTON 1

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Daphne Borowicz and Nicolette Leonard won their singles matches at Hickory topped Wilmington, 4-1.

The doubles teams of Ava Spielogle-Abbie Bender and Nora Logue-Hannah Beighley were victorious at doubles for the Hornets.

GROVE CITY 4, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 1

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Macy Matson and Abby Aument won at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, as Grove City beat Kennedy Catholic.

Both doubles’ teams were victorious as well for GC.
