Oct. 29, 2021 D10 Football: Stallworth, Farrell Topple LeBoeuf; Warren, Greenville Notch Wins

   
   

WATERFORD, Pa. – In a game that was just picked up this week, Anthony Stallworth became Farrell’s all-time leading rusher in a 48-21 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

The game served as a final tune-up before both teams enter the playoffs, Farrell in Class 2A and Fort LeBoeuf in Class 3A.

Farrell, which had allowed just 14 points all year, led just 22-14 in the third quarter after Fort LeBoeuf’s Tristin Harris returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown.

The Steelers were able to pull away, however. Kabron Smith threw three touchdown passes – two to Omar Stewart Jr. and another to Kylon Wilson.

Stallworth scored a pair of touchdowns in the win.

            

WARREN 32, CORRY 14

WARREN, Pa. – Tommy Nyquist and Ethan Senz rushed for two touchdowns each as Warren beat Corry in its regular season finale, 32-14.

The Dragons (5-4) jumped out to a 20-0 lead as Senz scored on a 7-yard run and a Nyquist 26-yard scamper.

Senz extended the lead to 20-0 on a 9-yard run with 8:05 to go in the second quarter.

Nathan Lesher got Corry on the board at the 5:21 mark of the second quarter.

                          

The Dragons extended their lead to 32-6 in the third quarter. First, it was big-play Ben White scoring on a 61-yard pass from Eric Dippold, followed by a 5-yard run from Nyquist.

Corry added a late score courtesy of a Lesher 4-yard run.

Nyquist finished with 132 yards on the ground, Senz 65 and Sam Harvey 52 for the Dragons. Lesher led Corry with 41 yards rushing and 143 yards passing.

The Dragons now turn their attention to the District 10 Class 4A semifinals next week when they will battle General McLane. The two teams met earlier this season, a 34-31 win for GM in a back-and-forth affair.

GREENVILLE 43, CONNEAUT (Pa.) 6

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Greenville led 36-0 at halftime in its final game before the Class 2A playoffs, beating Conneaut, 43-6.

Jase Herrick scored three touchdowns for the Trojans – two receiving and one rushing. Jalen Ritzert found him for scores of 2 and 8 yards and he also scored on a 1-yard run.

Levi Swartz scored on a pair of 15-yard touchdown runs and eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing on the season in the process.

The Trojans will meet unbeaten Farrell next week in the semifinals.

BUTLER 27, ERIE 23

                        

ERIE, Pa. – Cooper Baxter’s 8-yard touchdown run with just over a minute to play lifted Butler to a dramatic 27-23 win over Erie.

With the win, the Golden Tornado (5-4) advanced to play McDowell in the D10 Class 6A championship game.

Braylon Littlejohn scored on a 20-yard touchdown run for the Golden Tornado in the first half, and Erie came back to tie it on a Stephen LeBron 6-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Gilmore.

FAIRVIEW 56, SENECA 26

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Fairview’s Vincent Campoli threw for five touchdowns as the Tigers earned a 56-26 win on Friday.

The win served as final tune-up for the Tigers before next week’s Class 3A quarterfinal game against Grove City.

Giovanni Natalie and Logan Frazao each caught two touchdown passes, with Frazao also taking a kickoff to the house.

Jared Gennsuo also eclipsed 100 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown for the Tigers (7-2).

Seneca’s Nolan Seabury was over 100 yards passing and rushing, accounting for three total touchdowns. Seneca’s season ends with a 2-6 mark.

GIRARD 13, HARBOR CREEK 7

         

GIRARD, Pa. – Girard jumped out to a 13-0 lead and held off Harbor Creek, 13-7.

The win was the first of the season for the Yellow Jackets.

Gunner Bax scored both touchdowns on the ground for Girard.

Dylan Fedak scored on a fumble return for the Huskies, who will enter the Class 4A semifinals next week against Meadville.

NORTH EAST 28, IROQUOIS 16

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Tyler Wittman rushed for a pair of touchdowns as North East scored all 28 of its points in the first half in a 28-16 win over Iroquois.

Casey Burch also had a first-half touchdown run for North East, finishing with 91 yards on the ground.

North East overcame a big game from Iroquois’ Michael Hoopsick, who eclipsed 200 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns.
