Oct. 23-24 Volleyball Recaps: Warren Upsets State-Ranked Cochranton; Cameron Co, Oswayo Valley Get Wins

Oct. 23/24 volleyball recaps.

WARREN 3, COCHRANTON 1

WARREN, Pa. – Warren upset visiting and state-ranked Cochranton, 3-1 (26-28, 25-14, 25-13, 26-24).

Jordan Sitler had a monster match for the Dragons with 18 kills, two aces, and a block, while Carly Beers added 12 kills, 10 digs, two blocks, an ace, and a set assist.

Hannah Shattuck also had 10 kills, nine digs, two set assists, and an ace for Warren with Olivia English chipping in eight kills.

            

Katie Madigan paced the defense for the Dragons with 35 digs and also had three set assists and two aces with Meredith Morrison also helping out on defense with 12 digs while adding an ace.

Halee Mineweaser ran the offense for Warren with 41 set assists and added 15 digs and two aces.

Cochranton entered the match ranked sixth in Class 1A by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches’ Association.

CAMERON COUNTY 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Morgan Lorenzo had five kills, seven digs, and three aces to help Cameron County to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-16) win over visiting Northern Potter Saturday.

                          

Mallory McKimm chipped in four aces and four kills for the Lady Raiders who also got four kills and three digs from Kaelee Bresslin and 12 kills and four digs.

Reggie Goodrow ran the offense for Cameron County with 21 set assists.

Courtney Martin had 22 digs and three kills for Northern Potter who also got 18 digs, two kills, and two aces from Megan Hyde, four kills and two blocks from Lydia Zdrojewski and 14 digs from Kayden Brown.

OSWAYO VALLEY 3, ST. MARYS 0

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Macy West had 10 kills, five aces, four digs, and a block to help Oswayo Valley to a 3-0 (25-7, 25-4, 25-11) home sweep of St. Marys.

Jadyn Brabham added 15 kills and two aces for the Green Wave with Johanna Dickerson running the offense with 23 set assists and adding seven aces, two kills, and two digs.

SHEFFIELD 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Emily Leichtenberger had 11 kills, 15 digs, and nine aces to lead Sheffield to a 3-1 (24-26, 25-12, 25-12, 25-23) win over visiting DuBois Central Catholic Friday.

Lynzie Grubbs added 12 kills and six blocks for the Lady Wolverines while Kassidy Orinko chipped in 14 kills, 15 digs, and three blocks.

Kadence Steffan ran the offense for Sheffield with 39 set assists.
