Oct. 19, 2022 Soccer Recaps: Bradford Girls Beat Warren; Cathedral Prep Edges McLane

WARREN, Pa. – Four different Bradford players scored as the Lady Owls earned a 4-1 win over rival Warren.

Emily Morgan and Maddi Cowburn scored in the first half and Bella Prince (penalty kick) and Kelsea Austin scored in the second half for the Lady Owls.

           

Austin was named Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Match and talked about the win afterward, along with Cowburn.

Warren broke the shutout with a little over a minute to play as Meea Irwin found twin-sister Leyna Irwin who headed the ball into the back of the net.

Madalyn Stark got the win in net for Bradford.

CATHEDRAL PREP 3, GENERAL MCLANE 2

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Dixon, Moira Thunell, and Alex Tojaga all scored as Cathedral Prep edged General McLane, 3-2.

Tojaga, Dixon, and Callie Cacchione all had assists for the Ramblers.

CONNEAUT 6, TITUSVILLE 0

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Kylie Mattera and Hannah Brady scored two goals each as Conneaut blanked Titusville, 6-0.

Alayna Ott and Brianna Nader also scored for Conneaut.

Victoria Medrick had three assist for CASH.

CLEARFIELD 7, PENNS VALLEY 0

           

HYDE, Pa. – Elle Smith scored the first four goals of the game and also had two assists as Clearfield blanked Penns Valley, 7-0.

Megan Hamm and Alayna Winters also scored for Clearfield, while Riley Ryen had a pair of assists.

Cayleigh Walker had three stops in net for the Lady Bison.

BROOKVILLE 1, PUNXSUTAWNEY 1

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Kaida Yoder scored for Brookville as they earned a 1-1 draw with Punxsutawney.

Punxsy stats weren’t available.

FOREST AREA 5, KEYSTONE 2

TIONESTA, Pa. – Brianna Manno scored two goals, but it was Forest Area that came away with a 5-2 win over Keystone.

Sarah Cotton had two assists for Keystone, while Jerzey Bell made 15 stops in net.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 8, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Bailee Verdill scored five goals as Clarion-Limestone earned an 8-1 win over DuBois Central Catholic.

Verdill also had three assists, while Thomas Uckert had two goals and two assists. Danny Schweitzer had one goal and one assist, and Brenden Bettwy had one assist.

REDBANK VALLEY 2, BROCKWAY 1

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Owen Clouse scored a pair of goals as Redbank Valley edged, Brockway, 2-1.
