Oct. 18 ’22 VB Recaps: Exley Leads Keystone to Win; ECC Stays Unbeaten; Clarion, Cochranton, Maplewood Win

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Leah Exley had 12 kills and Natalie Bowser and Audrey Burrows combined for 14 kills to lift visiting Keystone to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19) win over Clarion-Limestone.

Bowser and Burrows each had seven kills.

Reagan Mays helped run the offense for the Lady Panthers with 15 set assists while adding nine digs and three aces and Kennedy Kaye chipped in 17 digs and three aces.

Maddy Greeley and Jenna Dunn each had 13 kills for Keystone with Alyssa Wiant adding nine kills and 12 digs. Jenna Dunn also had 12 digs.

Kendall Dunn ran the offense for the Lady Lions with 36 set assists and completed a double-double with 10 digs.

            

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, RIDGWAY 0

RIDGWAY, Pa. – A monster night from Reagan Bauer helped Elk County Catholic stay unbeaten with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-10) win over Ridgway.

Bauer had 17 kills and five aces and was joined by Maddie Bierley (10 kills, 3 blocks), Tori Newton (10 kills), and Madison Marzullo (6 kills, 2 aces).

Kiri Emmert ran the Lady Crusaders’ offense with 41 set assists.

CLARION 3, KARNS CITY 0

                          

CLARION, Pa. – Behind 10 kills, eight digs, and three aces from Aryanna Girvin Clarion topped visiting Karns City, 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-10).

Taylor Alston added eight kills and two digs for the Lady Cats who also got nine kills, five digs, and two aces from Hadlee Campbell and six kills and two digs from Adia Needham.

Bri Pierce added seven digs and two aces in the win with Grace Ochs running the offense with 33 set assists while adding six digs.

For Karns City, Ava Fox had six kills, five digs, a block, and a dig with Nicole Yaulor adding six digs, Bethany Morrow six digs and four aces, and Rosalie Carden six digs, three set assists, and a kill.

Also for the Lady Gremlins, Kendall Ritzert had five set assists and an ace.

MAPLEWOOD 3, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 0

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – It was a quick night for Maplewood, as the Tigers got nine kills, 10 digs, and four aces from Sadie Thomas on their way to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-6, 25-4) win over visiting Cambridge Springs.

Elizabeth Hunter and Megan Woge each added seven kills for Maplewood with McKenna Crawford pacing the defense with 11 digs.

Bailey Varndell ran the offense for the Tigers with 24 set assists and added nine digs.

BRADFORD 3, ST. MARYS 2

                        

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Lydia Sarnoski, Emma Swanson, and Sophia Asp helped lead visiting Bradford to a 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-2) win over St. Marys.

Sarnoski had nine kills and four blocks, Swanson added eight kills, and Asp chipped in four kills, five blocks, and six aces.

Also for the Lady Owls, Addison Carter had four kills and Maddie Dougherty led the defense with eight digs.

Ava Johnson had five aces for St. Marys with Rylee Nicklas (15 set assists) and Lindsey Reiter (13 set assists) running the offense.

EISENHOWER 3, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 1

         

RUSSELL, Pa. – Mikenzie Miller had nine kills and three blocks to help Eisenhower knock off visiting Tidioute Charter, 3-1 (25-11, 26-28, 25-20, 25-14).

Lexi Pascuzzi had six digs and three kills in the win while Samantha Briggs added five kills, Caroline Smyth four kills and four blocks, and Kailee Morrison four kills.

CURWENSVILLE 3, WILLIAMSBURG 2

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Jorja Fleming had 10 kills, three digs, and an ace to help Curwensville beat visiting Williamsburg, 3-2 (14-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, 15-12).

Lizzy Palmer also had 10 kills for the Lady Tide and chipped in two aces, a dig, and a block, and Ava Olosky added five kills and an ace.

Savannah Carfley ran the offense for Curwensville with 18 set assists and chipped in three kills.

PORT ALLEGANY 3, CAMERON COUNTY 0

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Madeline Smith led a balanced offensive attack for Port Allegany with eight kills and three aces to lead the Lady Gators to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-20) home win over Cameron County.

Smith added 12 digs to help the Port Allegany defensive cause.

Also for the Lady Gators, Kayleigha Dowell had 10 kills and three aces and Jenna Renner added seven kills and six aces.

Leigha Nelson ran the offense for Port Allegany with 27 set assists and chipped in three aces,

Navaeh Spaeth paced Cameron County with five kills and a block.

JAMESTOWN 3, COMMODORE PERRY 1

HADLEY, Pa. – Josie Pfaff and Madeline Enterline combined for 15 kills to lead visiting Jamestown to a 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18) win over Commodore Perry.

Pfaff had eight kills with Enterline adding seven. Enterline also had 24 digs.

Taylor Keener set up the offense for the Muskies with 18 set assists while adding two kills, a dig, and a block.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Samantha Griebel came two aces from a triple-double to help Punxsutawney survive DuBois Central Catholic, 3-2 (25-15, 25-27, 25-14, 24-26, 15-12), in DuBois.

Samantha Griebel had 18 kills, 13 digs, and eight aces while her sister, Danielle, ran the Lady Chucks’ offense with 37 set assists while adding 17 digs and six aces.

Lexi Poole also had eight kills, 11 digs, and four aces for Punxsy with Ciara Toven adding 11 kills and three aces, Kinsee Barnett six kills, an ace, and a block, Sydney Hoffman 18 digs, and Kaylee Guidice seven digs.

Kayley Risser led DCC with 11 kills and three aces with Jessy Frank adding six kills and two aces.

FAIRVIEW 3, SENECA 0

ERIE, Pa. – Emma Willow had 13 kills and Abby Zablotny 10 kills as the visitors from Fairview swept past Seneca, 3-0 (28-26, 25-23, 25-12).

Julia Weindford added 11 digs for the Tigers with Paige Wingerter (20 set assists) and Addy Greene (9 set assists) running the offense.

AUSTIN 3, SMETHPORT 2

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Savannah Horton had 16 kills to help visiting Austin edge Smethport, 3-2 (16-25, 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 15-12).

Marah Fowler ran the offense for the Lady Panthers with 40 set assists and chipped in six digs and five kills and Ella Brewer had 41 digs and four aces.

Kaylee Swanson had 10 kills, 17 digs, and four aces for Smethport with Alyn Thomas adding nine kills, four blocks, three aces, two digs, and a set assist, and Ella Forquer five kills and 11 digs.

Baylee Fitzsimmons paced the Lady Hubberrs on defense with 30 digs and also ran the offense with 29 set assists while chipping in five kills.

MEADVILLE 3, HICKORY 0

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Emma Parks was at it again, as visiting Meadville swept Hickory, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-22).

Parks had 16 kills and 17 digs to lead the Bulldogs while Kendall Mealy added 14 digs.

Elliott Schleicher ran the offense for Meadville with 23 set assists and completed a double-double with 10 digs while adding five kills.

MERCYHURST PREP 3, GIRARD 1

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk had 15 kills and Addica Sperry 19 kills, 10 digs, and five aces to help Mercyhurst Prep to a 3-1 (25-22, 28-26, 23-25, 25-15) win over visiting Girard.

Julia Seth ran the offense for the Lakers with 43 set assists while adding 18 digs while Da’Zhana Jordan also had 18 digs and Avery Ollinger 13 digs.

Lexi DiFuccia chipped in seven kills and five digs in the win.

Kacie Dunn paced Girard with 10 kills and six digs, Ashlee Rictor added eight kills, six digs, and 21 set assists, and Ashlynn Rictor had 12 kills and seven digs.

Also for the Yellow Jackets, Julia Pursell had 14 digs, Alivia Montgomery 17 digs, and Tara Kasper eight digs. Rorie Lawrence added five blocks.

COCHRANTON 3, IROQUOIS 0

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Devyn Sokol and Brooklyn Needler each had nine kills in Cochranton’s 3-0 (25-5, 25-25, 25-8) home win over Iroquois.

Dana Jackson ran the offense for the Cardinals with 29 set assists, and Claire McCartney had five aces.

REDBANK VALLEY 3, A-C VALLEY 1

FOXBURG, Pa. – A huge night from Alivia Huffman helped Redbank Valley pick up a 3-1 (25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-22) road win over A-C Valley.

Huffman had 22 kills and 20 digs to lead the Lady Bulldogs who also got seven kills, 12 digs, and four aces from Taylor Ripple, and 28 digs from Caylen Rearick.

Mylee Harmon (17 set assists) and Allyn Hagen (14 set assists) ran the offense for Redbank Valley with Harmon adding 17 digs and three kills.

Lexi Ruckdeschel had nine kills, six blocks, and six aces for A-C Valley with Mackenzie Parks adding seven kills and 10 digs.

Jenna Stefancci ran the offense for the Lady Falcons with 15 set assists and added four kills.

SHARON 3, REYNOLDS 0

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Kylee Hass paced a balanced offensive effort in Sharon’s 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-18) win at Reynolds.

Hass had 10 kills for the Tigers with Victorya Byler adding nine kills, Kaylee Schell seven kills, and Ondrea Younger six kills.

Kylie Weirck ran the Sharon offense with 16 set assists while adding seven digs, Claire Bodien had seven digs, and Cameryn Krecek added six digs.

Marissa Hillyer led Reynolds with seven kills and an assist with Kylie McAdoo adding 10 digs and two aces. Rylee Gearhart chipped in 10 digs and a kill.

Annie Loposky ran the offense for the Raiders with 13 set assists and added two blocks and four digs.

CORRY 3, FORT LEBOEUF 0

WATERFORD, Pa. – McKenna Moore had nine kills, 16 digs, and five aces to help Corry to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-21) road win over Fort LeBeouf.

Halle Albers added seven kills and seven digs for the Beavers who also got five kills from Aubrey Chase.

Tayler Elchynski helped lead the Corry defense by adding 15 digs with Payton McCray adding six digs and 14 set assists and Kendall Chamberlin five digs and seven set assists.

Katelyn Olmstead paced Fort LeBoeuf with 11 kills with Kayleigh Anderson adding nine kills. Becky Whitman had a team-best eight digs with Mackenzie Galdon adding five digs.

Galdon ran the offense for the Bison with 31 set assists and chipped in three aces.

PENNS VALLEY 3, CLEARFIELD 1

HYDE, Pa. – Despite seven kills from Ruby Singleton Clearfield dropped a 3-1 (25-15, 17-25, 25-20, 25-12) decision to visiting Penns Valley.

Hannah Glunt added six kills and 16 set assists for the Lady Bison who also got five kills from Addy Ruiz and four kills and four aces from Sam Campolong.

CONNEAUT 3, GROVE CITY 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Thanks in part to 15 kills, four aces, and two blocks from Kaylee Mattera Conneaut cruised to a 3-0 (25-4, 25-7, 25-15) road win at Grove City.

Sylvia Prebor and Ginger Woods each added five kills and four blocks for CASH with Mackenzie Wensel chipping in five aces, four digs, three kills, and two blocks and Paris Karastury seven digs.

Payten Karastury ran the offense for Conneaut with 22 set assists while adding three aces.

Delaney Callahan had five kills and Faith Cunningham three kills for Grove City while Brooke Hovis added three digs.

Jaya Persinger ran the offense for GC with nine set assists.

SAEGERTOWN 3, SHARPSVILLE 1

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Big nights from Alyssa Arblaster and Brywn McLaughlin helped Saegertown to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19) road win over Sharpsville.

Both Arblaster and McLaughlin had 14 kills apiece with Arblaster completing a monster double-double with 23 digs and McLaughlin adding a pair of blocks.

Rylie Braymer chipped in 18 digs with Lyndzee Amory adding three blocks.

Lindsey Greco ran the Panthers’ offense with 36 set assists, completed a double-double with 10 digs, and added two blocks.

CRANBERRY 3, FOREST AREA 0

TIONESTA, Pa. – Ayanna Ferringer had seven kills and six aces to help Cranberry top Forest Area, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-10) at West Forest.

Ashlynn Collins added seven set assists for the Berries who also got six aces from Lillie Kaputa.

FRANKLIN 3, ROCKY GROVE 0

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Sydney May had 27 set assists to help Franklin vanquish crosstown rival Rocky Grove, 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-23).

Sydni Hoobler led the Knights with seven kills and Gabby LaJuenesse added 18 digs.

Katie Beggs paced Rocky Grove with six kills and nine digs with Courtney Clark adding nine digs and a kill, Abby Cable three blocks, and Kaidlynn Burger seven digs.

KANE 3, BROCKWAY 0

KANE, Pa. – Mackenzie Blankenship had 10 kills and four total blocks to help Kane sweep visiting Brockway, 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-17).

Cora Jekielek and Maya Smith each added five kills with Smith also contributing two aces. Myka Costanzo had five aces and nine digs.

Jayna Johnson and Elizabeth Yasurek ran the offense for the Lady Wolves with 10 set assists apiece.

Lauren Rendos had nine kills and seven digs for Brockway with Kalina Powell adding 19 digs and Stephanie Stage six kills.

Also for the Lady Rovers, Sophia Schmader had 10 digs, two kills, and an ace, and Savannah Ross ran the offense with 17 set assists while chipping in four digs and a kill.

WEST MIDDLESEX 3, FARRELL 0

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Kennedy Beatty, Abby Keckle, and Alaina Bowers each had seven kills to lift West Middlesex to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-18) win over visiting Farrell.

Beatty added five digs with Keckler chipping in three aces.

Izzy D’Onofrio also had 14 digs for the Big Red with Caitlin Stephens running the offense with 27 set assists while chipping in three aces.

WARREN 3, ERIE 0

WARREN, Pa. – It was all about balance for Warren in its 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-7) win over visiting Erie.

Alexia Bowers had seven kills and two aces to lead the Dragons with Kylie Fehlman and Maddy Jones each adding six kills, Carly Beers five kills, and Kirsten Johnson four kills.

Fehlman also chipped in two blocks, Jones had four digs and five aces, Beers added 10 digs and two aces, and Johnson contributed four digs and two aces.

Summer Lucks paced the Warren defense with 21 digs while adding two aces, and Lindsay Madigan ran the offense with 27 set assists while also serving a pair of aces.

HARBOR CREEK 3, UNION CITY 0

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Habor Creek took a three-set victory, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-13) from visiting Union City.

Harbor Creek stats weren’t available.

Lucy Higley and Cathryn Reynolds led Union City with five kills and nine digs and five kills and three digs respectively. Brooke Wienczkowski added four kills with Lilly Vincent pacing the defense with 10 digs and Emmie Lewandowski adding eight digs.

Michayla Magee ran the offense for UC with 17 set assists.

MCDOWELL 3, GENERAL MCLANE 1

EDINBORO, Pa. – Visiting McDowell topped General McLane, 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 24-26, 25-10).

McDowell stats weren’t available.

Lilli Mook led General McLane with 15 kills, 16 digs, and two aces with Elaine Corwin adding seven kills, and Emily Wismer six kills, 14 digs, and two aces.

Rachel LeSuer also had 16 digs for the Lancers and Cassidy Swain added five blocks.

Abby Ball ran the GM offense with 24 set assists.
