Oct. 14 VB Recaps: Selfridge Helps Clarion Top Cranberry; Redbank Valley Beats A-C Valley

CLARION 3, CRANBERRY 0

SENECA, Pa. – Erica Selfridge had a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs and added an ace to help visiting Clarion to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-19) win over Cranberry.

Selfridge, who was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Match, talked about the win.

Korrin Burns had a match-high 14 kills for the unbeaten Lady Cats (13-0) and added five aces and four digs, while Payton Simko chipped in six kills and Aryana Girvin five kills. Brenna Campbell ran the offense with 35 set assists and had four digs, two kills, and an ace.

Ava Ferringer paced Cranberry with nine kills, Maria Anderson added six kills, and Jenna Reynolds had two kills, two aces, and two blocks.

                          

OSWAYO VALLEY 3, GALETON 1

GALETON, Pa. – On the day she won the Gc Town Properties Volleyball Performance of the Week vote, Oswayo Valley’s Jadyn Brabham had another monster performance with 28 kills and 29 digs in a 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 25-5) Green Wave win at Galeton.

Macy West also had a strong night for Oswayo Valley with 22 kills, 13 digs, and eight blocks, while Johanna Dickerson ran the offense with 39 set assists while adding seven kills, 16 digs, and six aces.

Alexis Johnson paced Galeton with 13 kills, four blocks, three digs, and two aces. Alli Macensky chipped in 12 kills, four digs and a block. Also for the Lady Tigers, Tressa Succowich had 11 digs, Lauren Sauley had 20 digs, 11 set assists, and five kills, Makenna Shuemaker added 10 set assists, 20 digs, and two kills and Mikayla Schott had 15 digs.

OTTO-ELDRED 3, CAMERON COUNTY 0

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Hailey Cousin recorded 10 kills, six digs, three aces, and two blocks to help visiting Otto-Eldred sweep Cameron County, 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-17).

Reilly Raught added seven kills, four blocks, and three aces for the Lady Terrors with Emmalee Sheeler running the offense with 25 set assists and adding six digs.

Hailey Hilfiger and Mallory McKimm each had six kills for Cameron County with Hilfiger also adding six digs and a block. Reggie Goodrow ran the offense for the Lady Raiders with 22 set assists.

JOHNSONBURG 3, AUSTIN 0

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Johnsonburg picked up a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) up win over Austin.

                        

Johnsonburg stats were not available, but Austin was led by six kills and five blocks from Kylie Welsh. Ella Brewer added 13 digs for the Lady Panthers and Marah Fowler had 14 set assists.

FRANKLIN 3, VENANGO CATHOLIC 0

OIL CITY, Pa. – Visiting Franklin swept Venango Catholic, 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-16).

Franklin stats were unavailable, but Venango Catholic was paced by 17 digs and three aces from Cheyanne Rudder. Lauren Ronchi had four kills for the Lady Vikings, and Loly Homan added 12 digs and two kills.

FORT LEBOEUF 3, SENECA 0

         

ERIE, Pa. – Audrey Friedman had 13 kills to lead visiting Fort LeBoeuf to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-8) sweep of Seneca.

Anna Bayer added six kills and eight digs with Lauren Dahn chipping in six kills.

Jordan Popowski led the defense with 15 digs with Katie Proctor adding seven digs.

Mackenzie Kulik and Kerringten Wasiulewski ran the offense with 17 set assists.

MEADVILLE 3, TITUSVILLE 0

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Kendall Sandrock had eight kills to lead a balanced Meadville offensive effort in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-22).

Mia Soerensen added seven kills with Ella Stewart chipping in six kills in the win. Sandrock also had five digs with Stewart adding six digs. Jillian Decker ran the offense for the Lady Bulldogs with 27 set assists and added three kills.

REDBANK VALLEY 3, A-C VALLEY 0

FOXBURG, Pa. – Montana Hetrick and Alviva Huffman combined for 21 kills to lead visiting Redbank Valley to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21) win over A-C Valley.

Hetrick led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 kills with Huffman adding nine. Brooke Holben and Lilly Shaffer ran the offense combing for 33 set assists, while the Rearick sisters of Brynn and Caylen had 18 combined digs to help Redbank Valley move to 14-1 on the year.

Andrea Meals paced A-C Valley with nine kills, 13 digs, and three blocks. Meah Ielase had six kills and 12 digs, and Rachel Cullen also added 12 digs. Tarra Stefanacci ran the offense with 14 set assists.

COUDERSPORT 3, NORTHERN POTTER 2

ULYSSES, Pa. – Avaree Kellert had 14 kills, 25 digs, three blocks, and three aces, as visiting Coudersport rallied from two sets down to beat Northern Potter, 3-2 (24-26, 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-5).

Paige Watson added 10 kills and 13 digs for the Lady Falcons, while Makenzie Gentzyel had 40 digs. Liz Frame ran the offense with 22 set assists while adding four aces and 15 digs.

Rebecca Martin had eight kills, five digs, and an ace for Northern Potter with Courtney Martin adding six kills and 22 digs. Megan Hyde and Madison Hoopes each chipped in 21 dig with Hyde also recording three aces. Faith Zdrojewski ran the offense for the Lady Panthers with 24 set assists and also added 14 digs and two kills.
