WATERFORD, Pa. – North East and Keystone each took home volleyball tournament titles Saturday
North East won the Fort LeBoeuf Tournament with Keystone taking home the Spiketacular title at Franklin.
The Grape Pickers topped Conneaut in the finals two sets to one winning the final two sets including an 18-16 victory in Set 3.
At Franklin, Keystone went 6-2 in pool play tying for second in pool play with Franklin and Lakeview. Cranberry was the best in pool play at 8-0.
The Lady Panthers then beat Eisenhower 25-12 in the opening round of the playoffs before taking care of Oil City, 25-15, in the quarterfinals. Keystone topped Cranberry, 25-19, in the semifinals then beat Lakeview, 25-22, in the finals.
Meanwhile, at the prestigious Wilson Tournament, Clarion went 3-5 in pool play failing to make the playoffs.
The Lady Cats swept Bald Eagle (25-17, 25-23), split with Bishop Shannahan (9-25, 25-21) and were swept by Bethlehem Catholic (9-25, 22-25) and State College (15-25, 19-25).
Aryana Girvan led Clarion on the day with 18 kills and 18 digs. Hadlee Campbell added 14 kills and 11 digs, Grace Ochs had 24 set assists and 10 digs, Bri Pierce had 19 digs, Adia Needham had eight kills, Sophie Babington had seven kills, and Taylor Alston had 17 set assists and four aces.
